  1. yeah that division is terrible, its really hard to pick one...
  2. nice evaluation of the crew at the 1/5 mark of the season. Seattle in the west though? not without adding some bats at this point.
  3. would have liked to see braddock up to see what he can do against big league hitters, but i'm happy to have a real lefty specialist now.
  4. never too early for draft predictions (wants) 15 Larry Sanders PF VCU 37 Stanley Robinson SF UCONN 47 Sherron Collins PG KANSAS Sanders might be raw offensively but is a ready defensively. has only played organized basketball for 4 years so he is very raw. Really like Robinson's game in watching UCONN. sort of reminds me of Mba a Moute. Collins might not be a good defensive and is a little short for PG and definitely too short for the sg, but was a great scorer at Kansas. If he shows the ability to be a better point and play some defense he will be a good nba point guard.
  5. i'll be up there in 2 weeks so i'm going to hold judgement. due to the fact that target field is brand new and miller park is already 10 years old I'd expect it to be nicer. Once the new scoreboard goes in next year the gap should be closer though.
  6. really like the new pornographers album. heard the hold steady which also came out on tuesday is pretty bad from a couple of places.
  7. i think its too early. if the brewers are close in july doug will make a move. looking at the minors while there isn't really anyone that can come in and help the rotation, braddock has been dominating and should be up by the end of may. this team can hit and this recent cold streak is puzzling but they will come out of it. in addition lucroy is off to a decent start in nashville and could be on the way to help.
  8. I'll believe it when I see it. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from 2002 and 2006. i agree, i don't think there will be shenanigans. if there were going to be shenanigans, johnson would have not fouled out on a charge with 2 minutes left in game 5.
  9. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/91592409.html will be replaced by Fred Dabney for 4-6 weeks. thoughts and prayers go out for a fast and full recovery.
  10. well that was before hoffman gave up the hit to put the tying run on. Overall I was amazed on how cubs fans in general only clap and cheer after something happens and not before when there are runners on, the starter has 2 strikes etc...
  11. had my first wrigley experience yesterday and it went better than expected. a couple annoying cubs fans in our section. I was very upset that i was told by an usher that I had to sit down while clapping and standing during the final out.
  12. sounds fun, i'd be in. if nothing else it would help me learn the minor league system better than i do now. i didn't see a search for groups like there is in the mlb version though.
  13. i agree, braddock is going to help this year. i was happy to see him live on friday.
  14. cell phone and dvr. Having dealt with VCR's with my entire life getting a dvr last fall showed how much of a pain VCR's were. Since i don't have a home phone, cell phones are my only means of communication.
  15. so hard to do this without pitching matchups but i'm in. 4/5 - vs COL L 4/6 - vs COL W 4/7 - vs COL W 4/9 - vs STL L 4/10 - vs STL W 4/11 - vs STL W 4/12 - @ CHC W 4/14 - @ CHC W 4/15 - @ CHC L 4/16 - @ WSH W 4/17 - @ WSH W 4/18 - @ WSH W 4/20 - @ PIT W 4/21 - @ PIT L 4/22 - @ PIT W 4/23 - vs CHC W 4/24 - vs CHC L 4/25 - vs CHC W 4/26 - vs PIT W 4/27 - vs PIT W 4/28 - vs PIT L 4/29 - @ SD L 4/30 - @ SD L 17-6 tiebraker = 15
  16. i am very optimistic too. I think the upgrades to the rotation as well as the depth in the rotation will be the difference. I am predicting 88-74 and the wild card for the crew. I think davis and wolf will show to be huge additions. If Gomez shows the promise he did when the twins got him for santana it could be a special season for the crew.
  17. i remember reading that article that day. I am not a ned hater like some on this board, but still think we would have not qualified without getting rid of him.
  18. i'm going with a non-player, the brewers firing ned yost. don't think we would have made the playoffs in 08 without that move.
  19. yeah i was all set to get playoff tickets but what really is the point now? Bogut was the one player we couldn't loose. One can only hope we stay in the 6th seed because I still think they can give the hawks or celtics a run for their money.
  20. no, don't think its on radio either because of the bucks are on 620.
  21. i'd like to see what we would get for him. I don't really want to give up on him as he was an all star only 2 years ago. I know he has a terrible spring. Hopefully Edmonds and Gerut can hold down the fort while he gets his act together.
  22. the darts one is awesome.
  23. didn't pay the 55 bucks to get it, but looking at the results, the main matches seemed pretty predicable to me. I figured the undertaker would beat michaels, cena would beat the animal, brett would beat vince. Surprised HHH beat Sheamus as he has been getting a large push from the company of late.
  24. I agree that season 1 of parks and rec was bad but this season has been hilarious. I don't get all the office hate around here. This season has been much better than last year. I think the biggest problem is that the show is now in season 6 and there isn't much new that they can do.
  25. after watching him yesterday for the first time this spring, he definitely looks lost out there. I think he can get out of his funk, but I think you that he has to split time with Edmonds and Gerut until he does. I agree he would have been better off if he lost his arby case. There is a lot of pressure to prove he is worth the money and I'm sure he wants to show that his struggles of last year are in the past.
