  1. since it would appear we will have 6 picks in the first 60, id like us to take a college closer and starter atleast. In past seasons where we would have a 1st and 3rd, and no second, Jack Z went for players with high ceilings. This year we can still do that and take a player who may help us in 09.
  2. oh i remember that kegstand, i am still fuzzy though if it was taken off mid-show. i seem to remember that happening. Watched frank tv last night and it was pretty unwatchable, i like him on mad tv or fox nfl sunday for 5 minutes, but that show is going to die quickly i think
  3. carvey's show was awesome. It is the only show in my recollection that got cancelled midshow. Can]t find confirmation of that, but i am pretty sure i recall that. http://danacarvey.franklinsites.com/
  4. the one think that irked me was obviously that leprechaun meant more and it never got answered. Why was something imagined running around worrying about a terrorist attack. I enjoy the people they brought to imaginationland more than the actual story as homer said.
  5. i think its packers in a landslide. I won't forget how upset i was when the brewers were either a game back or tied with the cubs on the weekend the packers played their first game, and all of a sudden all brewers coverage when down the tubes. If the majority of people can't get excited about a pennant race, they aren't even going to care much more about the world series. Especially that the packers came in at 5-1. I like the packers, but even in the super bowl era, i just got annoyed by the level of coverage of this team. It gets to the point where i can't turn on 1250 on mondays cause i don't want to hear about packers monday. I like watching highlights, i like reading the game story in the paper, but thats it. I don't need to hear Mike McCarthy's monday press conference live. I know they do it all because people watch, listen, and read it, so i am in the minority.
  6. yeah i am excited too, i feel better about Simba taking the reigns when Ned goes Ned instead of Sveun. When Ned got thrown out or was suspended i was not impressed at all how Dale ran the team.
  7. nice scoop Brian. link
  8. well that was fast, atleast i have something to look forward to today, i wish those Hardicourt or someone could get that scoop.
  9. i gocha, i definitely agree with that
  10. not sure of that. True that he can't really do much in Nashville that he already hasn't. If Ned is not retained after his contract is up he would be considered for the job. If he left the organization, I am not sure if that would be the case.
  11. that was my reaction when i saw the article too. If he wanted to bring in someone who has already worked with the younger players, it would probably be Kremblas. With statements like that id think it would be someone outside the organization and has a resume that resembles leyva.
  12. i love it how we are worrying about him being a free agent in 4 years. Alot can change. While I doubt we will able to keep the all the young core players here once they reach free agency, there is no reason to think we can't throw some jack at them and keep them. What we need to worry about now is continue to draft well so that if we loose a Prince or Braun in free agency we can have a replacement. Nobody thats a fan team of this team doesn't know that we won't be able to pay to keep all these players here for 10 years. Teams like Oakland and Minnesota made good stretches even after loosing players by smart drafting. Thats the only way we are going to succeed. I don't think we should give up and say Braun and Fielder are unsignable once they are free agents, but we need to be realistic and have a back up plan.
  13. while i don't loose too much sleep over who the 3rd base coach should be, i wouldn't want Narron only if he would most likely get the managers job if Ned is let go.
  14. I think Melvin has done some good things while he was here. Most of the success of this team is a effect of the farm system which is more on Jack Z. Therefore I am on the fence. I can look at the complete body of moves, free agent signings, and coach hirings, and see that the majority of them has been in our favor. He also has yet to make a disastrous move (Taylor signing Hammonds being an example). He has been excellent at getting players on the waiver wire or that are out of baseball and turning them into capable major leaguers. He also has shown an ability to turn these players around for better ones. I personally hope he makes a serious run at something this offseason. If that means turning around a prospect or young player for a legit all star, so be it. He also needs to show that he can improve the pen. Other than that i think we are in decent shape heading into next year, so i think dropping Melvin unless you can get someone better is a wrong move. Thats my position on Ned too. I don't want Ned fired just to bring in another first year manager who is going to have growing pains.
  15. I think it is perfectly normal. I feel like i got a raw deal while working a in only a college job in 2001 and haven't really fully let it go. My life has been much better that it happened, cause i moved on and found somewhere else to work during my final year in college and met some great people that i am still friends with. I wouldn't worry about pay back, id focus on moving on. I was in your shoes cause I too wanted to get payback until I realized my life is better for that happening, you just can't see that while its happening cause you are filled with anger and resentment.
  16. id liken Kremblas to someone like Eric Wedge. Who is a younger guy and has managerial experience with Cleveland's kids in the minors. It seems to be working over there so i am not completely against going that way. Id rather go for a proven commodity . Unfortunately in the history of the team is the brewers have had 1 manager with previous managerial experience, so it just doesn't happen.
  17. all right this is beating a dead horse, but if yost is let go i want someone with experience. Kremblas may be a great manager some day but we need someone that has been to the playoffs before to lead this team. I am sick of the bucks and brewers bringing in coaches that this is their first job.
  18. i don't want sveun back to 3rd base. My guess is that its going to be someone out of the blue. The problem is that ned has 1 year left, with the possibility that if we don't make the playoffs the whole coaching staff would be gone. Why would someone like Simmons want to get into that kind of situation, unless he has a real itch to get into coaching.
  19. this trilogy has great potential, i loved that they brought back manbearpig and the woodland critters. I still don't know exactly what point they are going to make though. I also liked when Kyle dies and cartman was crying because he was worried that he could not fulfill the bet, and everyone else was crying cause they thought Cartmen was only upset cause his friend died.
  20. id think that if Kremblas got it, Money would get the job in Nashville which would be a nice promotion.
  21. go to youtube and search imaginationland, both parts are up there and you don't have to wait or pay to see it.
  22. i thought it was a 3 parter cause it the opening it said it was a trilogy. I won't ruin the it with the name of the trilogy if some haven't seen it yet.
  23. i agree the Tourettes episode was funny because it was something you could see Cartmen doing, the second one was not funny really at all and more was just an attack at Bono and Kurek. This has potential, i will be looking forward to see where they are going with this one.
  24. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3069115 looks like he is close to staying and an announcement should be occurring as I type this
  25. here is a link from the jsonline article on LaPorta and Palmisano. The way he has been hitting maybe are catching WHOA SOLVVD http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/archive/2007/10/18/laporta-looking-good.aspx
