He’s the first manager I remember. I agree if the wild card was around he would be up there with Counsell and Kuenn in brewers lore. -
What i read and already knew about Griffin all seems positive. Nurse was named the sixers head coach today. What we don’t know (and probably will never) is that if Nurse pulled out of the bucks job because he was told he wasn’t getting it, or if he did really want to coach sixers over the bucks and suns.

I do undertand that fact that this has been going on for about a year with no progress. Again, I think its very possible the brewers asked the commish to act as the bad cop to light a fire under some people, which worked.

I rant every year about this time about getting a corner IF early in the draft. I do like Aidan Miller's profile. -
This is totally different than the bucks situation. The NBA said build a stadium or the team will leave. The state has contractual requirements. Also there has been no threat by MLB or the brewers at this point. Manfred downplayed the notion that the brewers could leave yesterday even. Could the numbers be inflated? Yes. Could some of the stuff that they are asking for not required at this very moment? Yes. It would help if we saw detailed list of what needs to be done. Maybe some photos of areas that need to be replaced. Until then, not much more to talk about. There are taxpayers and fans that would never want a penny of public money towards the stadium for any reason. Some that see the value of a MLB team in the state and want to invest in that. Also there are fans in the middle. Doesn't seem like many will change their point of view no matter. Its up to the brewers and our public officials to figure it out.

Voting has started on Milwaukee's soccer team, i am not that invested in it, but i had a friend today post what has been revealed and I do like Goodland United.

I am atleast open to the notion that the brewers are having Manfred be the bad guy to help get their repairs done have you been up to the roof? its said to be rusted, I haven't neither, but I am open to notion that the roof is in disrepair. The stadium does not like for john Q fan, but I think its possible that areas of the stadium that we don't see could need some repairs.

I'm sure the Milwaukee season ticket holders are excited that they get a Thursday game and Sunday night game.

thats a good comp, but those are 7th round picks, not 5th. I personally wanted Bennett in the 6th / 7th, but Rams took in 4th.

not too much of a fan of this pick. I think they still need to get a vet, so Clifford is at best a developmental 3rd stringer, with little upside. I will though go back to my statement above, its a middle of the 5th round pick and like the 12th QB off of the board.

This is from my friends at Walter Football Lions acquire No. 45 (Brian Branch) from Packers for Nos. 48 (traded to Buccaneers), 159 (5th)It's odd that the Lions and Packers engaged in a trade together, but then again, Detroit made a deal with the Vikings a year ago. The Lions won that trade, and they prevailed in this one as well. They had to leap the Patriots to land Brian Branch, who easily could have been drafted in the 20s. Detroit landed a steal in Branch and only gave up a fifth-round pick to do so. The Packers can be praised for picking up an extra fifth-round selection, but they allowed their toughest competition in the division to acquire a talented player - one who will be intercepting No Cookie Jordan Love, no doubt. This is why I'm grading the Packers poorly.Grade for Lions - A+Grade for Packers - D This is what drives me nuts about all of the draft converge, the Packers clearly had Reed much higher on their draft board and got him. I wanted Branch too at 45. I just can't get too worked up about any pick, especiailly since most I really only saw a couple times play live at best.

yes with the top wr’s off the board if they love one of the wr’s I could see it. I think one of the top 3 will be sitting at 42 though so it’s not necessary

I think there could a possibility of the packers moving down at 13 as well, especially if one of 4 QB's fall down that low and a team in the late teens, early 20's really wants one, which could nab a 2024 1st (similar to the Fields trade)

I 100% agree that they will use those (2) 2nds they have this year to try to get back in the 1st round.

Obviously its hard to grade the trade without knowing the 2024 compensation, but assuming that Rodgers plays 65% of the plays and the Jets have a good season, the total package is akin to a 1st in the high teens. If they still get a 2nd, then its more or a late 1st, which I think is fair.

I think they need to get a vet now that their QB situation is resolved. i would hope that they let Love sink or swim and use their picks to give him as many weapon as possible.

the odd thing thing is that if the A's move next season, they would need the minor league stadium, thus it would be hard to have 2 tenants (not impossible) in the same season. Basically anytime the A's were on the road, he aviators would be at home.

Yes but during the summer how many people are in the LV metroplex compared to the Twin Cities. I am sure they are figuring the road team will bring fans in for a weekend of gambling and baseball.
