Will Leitch Leaving Deadspin

One of my favorite blogs is losing its editor and main writer, Will Leitch. He has accepted a position as a Contributing Editor for New York Magazine. I'd say it's a pretty big step up for him. He was recently going blow for blow with the writer of Friday Night Lights, Buzz Bissinger, on Costas Now.

I'm a big fan of Deadspin and have been for quite some time. Was surprised to see the post but at the same time, not at all. It seemed like he was destined for bigger and better (?) things, especially as of late. I didn't think that he'd leave his post as editor to do it, although I suppose it comes with the territory.

In any case, I hope they continue to do as they've been doing because it works. It takes a lot for a site to crack my regular 'rotation' of websites I visit upon every log-on, and Deadspin is one of them.

I to am a big fan of Deadspin and was sad to read that post. Will is a great writer and he created Deadspin which is easily one of my favorite websites to frequent. I loved when he went on Costas Now and went blow for blow with Bissinger. I'm currently reading Will's book "God Save The Fan". I'm only in chapter 2 but it is very well done. I would reccomend it to anyone.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed, too, though you had to see it coming. After the book and his recent gigs with some really major publications, it was only a matter of time. He's really handed the site over to Daulerio, Chandler and the rest of his crew over the last few months anyway. I'll still be a reader. I'd also recommend his book to any sports fan.

i think there are plenty of good writers over there to keep it strong.

and this also likely means less talk about the cards and illinois...which is fine by me.

I was sad to see our dear leader leave the editorship. Good thing he'll still be around contributing. I love the way he writes and he has kept his Midwest sensibility. Maybe he'll write the MLB closer.

Yeah, Will's writing style sucked me in right away. That is why I can't get enough of his book. It is just written so well and interesting.
