I just wanted to share this article I read today. It's starts with Mussina's Hall of Fame chances, but is really about how the media and fans misuse stats. Edited August 25, 2008 by Principessa21

It's a good read. I was not aware of Mussina's winning percentage stat that Jonah cites early in the piece.

 

My problem with the current discussion which discounts the pitcher win stat is that it's not a bad thing when a pitcher gets credit for a win. It may not be all that, and I understand you'll occasionally have a Bob Welch season, or a Nolan Ryan 8-16 year, but those are anomalies.
