If you take his full year stats the brewers did not get $8 million worth of production.

Then they didn't get $8 million worth of production out of Carlos either, and some people here are still willing to bump his pay up to 11-13 million.

That is all fine and good when the brewers are out of the race.

The Brewers were out of the race last year? We entered September a handful of games out of the wildcard. Jenkins was hitting, and in the meantime Carlos Lee was MIA.

Instead of thinking that it's when the Brewers are out of the race, can you realize how valuable that will be when the Brewers are legitimately in the playoff hunt in the next few years?

Then only send him paychecks during the second half of the year.

So is Carlos going to send back the Brewers' money that he received while sucking after the All-Star break last year as well?

It'd be really nice if Yount would PH for Gross with Hart here.

It's probably way to early for that considering that Clark has already been used and we have to pinch hit for the pitchers who will be coming in every few innings.

that is debatable.. what isn't is since the beginning of last year:

Carlos:

52 HR 164 RBI's 20 SB

Geoff:

32 HR 123 RBI's 3 SB

So does Jenks get 2 days off like Billy did last week?

Good point. Not only did Jenkins throw the bat down in front of the ump, he stood there and argued balls and strikes. It will be interesting to see what Ned does about this situation. If he punishes Hall, he almost has to punish Jenkins.

I was talking about last year. If Jenks wasn't worth 8 million, then Carlos certainly wasn't either.

Nice to see Capellan come through with 2 scoreless innings...

So do you bring in Wise for the 8th hoping to hold them and catch up?

I think anybody else but Wise / Turnbow for the 8th and 9th is 2 runs.. .

Of course they can't pitch everyday.

Whats the probability that Capellan makes it through a third inning? This was a Yost type move, managing to what you hope will happen instead of what will likely happen.

Capellan is batting?

Certainlly not ideal, but if it means I don't have to see Winkelsas, Simpson, Shouse pitch the 7th, I can't get to upset. Now hopefully Capellan doesn't run out of gas.

You have 13 pitchers.. for the love of god.. what does Ash have to say about this move?

Yeh, and not enough position players as a result, hence a reliever batting for himself. Boggles the mind.
