You can tell things are going poorly when Skaalen gets mad. Usually he's the most stone-faced of them all.

3-1 count and Hart grounds into a double play.

Weeks has regressed

Hardy improved

Braun regressed (although nobody could expect him to keep up those numbers)

Fielder regressed

Hart regressed

Hall regressed

Most of our hitters have regressed. Pathetic.

Have to admit that the game looks bad, but Yost is doing everything he can to win. I thought he might have McClung hit to get a few innings out of him.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Well, with a two-fer on tap for tomorrow, maybe you settle for two runs there and hope to build next inning, without burning up another pen arm. At his point I think you have to meta-game.

Well, at least I don't have to waste my Saturday watching this crap. For those stuck in the rain looking for something else to watch, I recommend The Searchers with John Wayne on AMC starting at 4:15.

Ugh.

I've been missing The Searchers for this garbage? That'll be the day.

I just tuned into the game on the internet. Anyone here a reason why Yost went Dillard, McClung, Villy, rather than just leaving one of the first two in for two or three innings, at least (admittedly, I can't remember if Dillard is capable of multiple innings)? Not really a criticism of Yost, just curious. I like that he pulled Parra early and does seem to be doing what he can to claw back into this game. I guess he just wanted the pinch hitters?

Is the intent here to extend CV in this game? If it is, I just don't get it at all. He may be one of the few guys I trust in a tight late game situation, and they're throwing him now?

He pulled them for pinch hitters.

As far as I can tell dl, Yost is a gritty battler who is willing to pull out all the stops to win this game, tomorrow's DH be darned.

I admire the attitude, but not the execution. Settling for two last inning and pitching McClung this inning would have been fine. (Hell, McClung may have put up a better AB last inning too). Of course, this leaves aside the question of why McClung came in after Dillard barely broke a sweat.
