How were the Cub fans at Sunday's game?

The usual? Subdued knowing they had the top seed wrapped up? Congratulatory? They didn't seem as vocal. Were there as many of them? Those of us watching at home want to know.

Less in number than Sunday. I didnt see any congratulatory, but I made my way onto the field right after the final out, so not sure. They were pretty loud when Theriot singled in the 9th, but CC kept most of them in check the whole day.

They were actually really nice, it was odd. A majority of them stuck around for the conclusion of the Mets/Marlins game, and stood and applauded when it was all said and done. I was shocked.

I've got to admit, for the most park they were very classy. I got a lot of congratulatory remarks and "good lucks"; it was strange, but good to see
Same here the few around us in the LF bleachers 236 were really nice especially when my friend sprayed everyone within two rows of us with his beer after Braun's HR.

The Cub fans next to us in the parking lot congratulated us and well and wished us luck I told him we would see him again in the NLCS http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I had no issues at all either. It was nice. They must be getting into their playoff mode where they actually start caring about what's going on the field and not about offending as many opposing fans as they can.

Ya, Sunday, they weren't bad. There was one Cubs fan by us that was cheering when the Mets tied up their game, and saying some trash, but the rest weren't bad. A few around us stayed around and watched the Mets ending and said good luck to us.

Saturday on the other hand...

The Cub fans I work with have been congratulatory for the most part today. I think a lot of Cub fans that know Brewer fans are happy for us though they are wary of the Dodgers. I'd bet a lot of Cub fans that bought tickets for the last series, in hindsight might have wished they hadn't or had sold them. I know I would never want to be in an opponent's park when a team was or had a chance of clinching.

I just hope that should the Brewers meet the Cubs in the NLCS, that Brewer fans with tickets resist the temptation for financial gain by selling them, especially to Cub fans. This opportunity comes along (if we're lucky) just a few times in our lifetimes. The memories alone are worth more than what can be gained by selling tickets.

more than friday, but way less than saturday. they were real quiet in my area in 421. most left right away...a couple stayed.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure Cubs fans (as well as other fans) hate the Mets/their fans so I'm guessing they didn't really mind the Brewers making it over them. Plus when you're the best team in the NL you're going to be the favorite no matter who they would've potentially played anyway.

There were a few loud Cubs fans near us in 428, but they were keeping it clean. I saw after Braun's homerun, a brewer fan leaving 430 with a t-shirt covering his eye and being escorted by police, we don't know what happened, but I would venture a guess he got punched in the eye (intentional or unintentional I don't know).

Other than that, the Cubs fans kept to themselves and left quickly around us.

You can be positive about it. We who are old enough have a very deep seeded resentment over 1969.

Sunday was not bad - though we had loge tickets instead of terrace tickets, and I'm sure that was part of the difference. Section 217 on Sunday was probably 90% Brewer fans, and apart from one woman who didn't seem to want to put down her sign, there wasn't much to irk me, even before the game turned in Milwaukee's favor.

TB 417 on Saturday was maybe 55 or 60% Brewer fans, and a more obnoxious bunch to boot (again, I think, regardless of the score).

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Granted the Cubs had nothing to play for but for the first time I can recall the Brewers fans were clearly more vocal than Cubs fans.

There were only 4 times I can think of that the Cubs fans were actually noticed Sunday. 1 - When they scored the first run. 2.-When Zambrano batted in the 2nd. 3.- During take me out to the ball game where they try and shout root for the Cubbies.4.-When Kendall grounded out to end the 7th inning.

After the Braun HR it was like they all disappeared.

I enjoyed that tremendously because when exiting the from the game Saturday they were EXTREMELY obnoxious and predicting failure for the Brewers on Sunday.

There was a 5th time the Cub fans were noticed and that was during innings(don't remember which) when Braun tossed the ball into the bleachers after throwing it around the outfield like they do.

It went up around section 234-235. Some kid maybe mid teens caught the ball but since he was a Cubs fan he thought he would be cute and toss it back on the field. Braun threw his hands up to signal the umps to stop play so he could pick the ball up and get it off the field. Which he did I think the foul ball person by third base gave it to a little kid.

The best part about this is all the Brewer fans started chanting and pointing in the Cub fans direction and two cops and a event staff worker came down and escorted him and his mother out of the game.

It was great we all cheered really loud while he was being escorted out. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I actually had a very poor experience with cubs fans at the game. We were in 434 and we were basically surrounded by cubs fans.

When the Marlins scored their first two runs, there was a lot of cheering from Miller Park obviously, and a guy in front of me was telling me to stop cheering for that game and pay attention to the game on the field. I told him that if he were in the same position as I was, he would be cheering for the other game. He tried to tell me he wouldn't, until my friend (who is a cubs fan) told him to shut up. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

My other issue was in the last two innings, I was standing for basically the whole time. I was told to sit down by cubs fans behind me. I said, "the Brewers haven't been to the playoffs in my lifetime. I am standing proud. Deal with it."

They weren't really respectful to the importance of that day to Brewer fans.

Saturday night I narrowly avoided two kerfuffles with Cubs fans.

But Sunday morning I encountered some really kind, well wishing ones.

There were a few jerks on the way out of the park who were mock-chanting "Whooo, Wild Card! Wild Card! Whooo!"

But there were a lot of Brewer fans being jerks too. My car has IL plates on it and people were giving me guff, even though I was bedecked in Brewer gear.

So basically, it's the same story as always: The nice fans you don't notice as much because they are nice and are not yelling in your face. You notice the obnoxious ones, and they weigh more in your memory, because they assaulted your senses more.

I didn't notice too many 'rotten' Cubs fans. For the most part they were ok. On Friday night there we 2 Cub's fans sitting behind me and they were loud and obnoxious before the game started but were fairly decent during the game.

Yesterday I expected alot of commotion from Cub's fans but didn't hear or see anything. I was so excited and full of emotion the Cub's fans didn't register on my radar from the 8th inning on though.

I have a Brewers bumper sticker. Somehow people just don't notice it.
