2009-03-16 Cubs at Brewers... Supplemental picture thread

I got back from my trip to Arizona yesterday and I've spent most of today going through all the photos I took. I thought I would share some of them here. It was my first prolonged use of my new camera and I was really excited. I took about 500 pictures.

 

A few quick thoughts though: there were a few players I thought looked very good. Hart, Hardy and Duffy looked good both in the plate and in the field. Bush gave up six hits in four innings, but I thought his pitches looked good and got some pretty horrible swings as well. I got my first look at Lorenzo Cain. The guy is lanky but he looks so fast and smooth in the field. Weeks looks like he's bulked up over the winter, and Prince does indeed look slimmed down. Hardy looked a little bigger and seemed to be a bit faster too, but that just might have been me.

 

This was my first trip to Spring Training, but my fiance enjoyed it and was already talking about going back next year. A lot of the time, I was wandering around wondering if people I saw were from BF.net. We stayed in Flagstaff (also went to the Grand Canyon) and were able to go to only one game, but hopefully I can meet some of you another time.

Very well done! I like the one's with the distorted focus. Also, the one of bunt attempt is a great pic.

I like the Fielder/Bush one because it looks like Fielder is playing third base and that makes me laugh on the inside.

I'm having trouble telling who the last two players are. (Attempting a bunt and standing on second). Thank you for sharing these photots.

Guy in the bottom pic is Hernan Iribarren, I believe. I _think_ the guy standing on the bag in the pic above is Lorenzo Cain, but I'm probably wrong.

I'm guessing Iribarren for the bunter, since no other Brewer in the box score for the March 16 game has a name ending in EN.

Invader got them both right. The one batting before the photo of Cain should be Escobar. I can't really remember because I took photos of each from the same vantage point.

Pretty sure the guy on 2nd and the one above are of Cain...

Looking at it again, I think you're right. I haven't seen enough of each to really be able to tell the difference without seeing their uniform numbers.

That photo of Bush pitching reminds me of a pic I saw of Pryor when he was with the Cub's. The caption read, "the dreaded inverted W" and both elbows were pointed toward the sky. The jist of it was that it was why he was so often injured. Would the Bush delivery be the one with quality / good mechanics?
