Attanasio's absence?

Is it just me, or has Mark Attansio been pretty absent so far this season?

 

Not that he needs to be at a lot of the games or conducting a lot of interviews, it just seems like he hasn't been around as much as in the past. This isn't critical of him at all, I think he is a great owner and has done a great job so far.

 

Obviously, he has a ton of other stuff going, I'm sure. Just wondering if I am crazy or if anyone else has also noticed.

Seems like I remember seeing him at a few games in the beginning of the year, and since then haven't seen him much.

 

I'm sure he's following things pretty intently back in LA, though.

I don't think he really needs to be in the spotlight anymore. Those first few years were critical because he had to prove to the fans that there was a new regime and we were going to be competitive. At this point, though, I don't think there is a Brewer fan out there with a bad thing to say about him, so he can just lay low.

I'm sure TCW is going through some storms during the economic downturn, so he probably has to focus his attention on that.

Isn't he still a partner in a law firm(or something to that line)? The guy still has a business to run in LA. I think once summer gets here, he'll be here more often.

I'm sure he's just real busy right now. I bet he watches as many games as he can or has his blackberry handy at all times constantly keeping up with the club.

Ha! Yeah, how dare he not shell out another $100+ million! He's just not committed.

 

I think the only negative thing that I've ever heard about Attanasio is that Suppan was more his signing than it was Melvin's. If that's the only negative in the years that he's been here, I think he can feel confident that Brewer fans are happy with him.

While I do think Attanasio probably had some hand in that signing (obviously he made it a priority to meet with the guy), I think it's pretty speculative to say he forced it or something. I have to believe if Melvin really thought it was going to be a bad deal that he could have somehow talked Attanasio out of it. I don't think any of us really know.
