Dillon wins this one as he goes 3 for 3 and reached base 4 times in the Tampa win! Dillon was 2 for 2 and was hit by a pitch vs Sabathia... Tampa gets 4 runs against Rivera in the 9th for a 9-7 victory!

Cubs and Reds are tied at 3 in the bottom of the 10th. Game is on WGN if you want to watch it. I wouldn't mind seeing a nice 16 inning game between these two.

What a spectacular way to lose if you're the Cubs...

- Jay Bruce walks to start the inning.

- Bruce advances to second on a passed ball, but went into second standing up and could've easily been out with a better throw.

- Bruce advances to third on a hard sacrifice bunt to the pitcher, who had a chance to throw Bruce out at third but went to first instead.

- Next batter hits a hard grounder to Fontenot at third with the contact play on...Fontenot should have Bruce dead to rights at home, but makes an unbelievably bad throw that makes the catcher leave his feet...Bruce walks across home plate.

You almost feel bad for how much they're struggling.

Almost. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

They didn't have a chance for Bruce at third since nobody was covering and that ground ball that scored Bruce wasn't even close to being hit hard.

My bad, then...I forgot that no one was covering third on the bunt. Fontenot still should've had Bruce at the plate, though.

It sort of reminded me of the Brewers' walkoff against the Cubs earlier this year when Weeks scored on an infield hit, although it was at least understandable that Theriot wasn't able to get that ball in. A throw that didn't cause the catcher to leave his feet gets Bruce.

TGJ on base five times thru 7 innings tonight (2 for 2 and 3 walks)... Now hitting .325 with an OBP of .426 in his first 14 games with San Diego... Good for Tony!!!
