i like the idea of Dwight taking over. everyone else seems to have something of a normal personality, and that wouldn't work in this series--everybody tends to feed off Michael's character. without a boss doing something crazy, there wouldn't be a need/use for the Jim and Pam 'reasoning' characters.

 

although how about Andy as the boss? maybe he'd be so wrapped up with his relationship that the inmates would run the asylum and make for some comedy.

I was thinking I would like to see someone with a similar personality to Dwight but with ridiculousness to the Michael level. Everyone assumes that Dwight and the new guy will get along but even Dwight thinks he is too much. I just want to see Dwight play the same character and be the straight man.

Will Arnett would be a great replacement. All he would have to do is take his character from Arrested Development.

I was actually going to post the same thing!

 

What I like about Arnett is that he wouldn't necessarily be just another "dumb boss" type replacement. He could play a character more like he does on 30 Rock, the rutheless do-anything-to-succeed type.

 

Also, if Parks and Rec doesn't make it past its next season, that show is overflowing with great actors who could be snagged for The Office.
