"She's having contraptions!"

Not sure if it was just the mood I was in but I thought it was hilarious. First half better than second but all in all really well done.

As usual, there were some very funny bits in the episode such as Meredith's Clooney joke (only time I've ever laughed at anything she's said), Dwight sleeping naked in Jim n Pam's bed, Andy hiding behind plants, and Creed crying and saying having fun as they left the office.

But the writing just continues to be so damn poor. I'm just shocked at how predictable the writers have become. Breastfeeding the wrong baby, Michael walking in on the delivery, Dwight and Michael stopping to say where they saw a deer on the side of the road while Pam is in freakin labor. I know they're supposed to be clueless idiots, but no one is that dumb. That's the kind of cliched crap I would expect from Two and a Half Men, and not The Office.

Agree with everything you said GI, but I felt the good outweighed the bad these episodes.

I thought it was alright overall. My favorite was Phyllis, "I can put on my lipstick like Molly Ringwald in the Breakfast Club."

Yeah, I definitely laughed my ass off at a lot of parts. Even the way, way out there stuff like Dwight dropping axes and swords out his window as he was getting pulled over.

Did you notice the cops called him by name as they pulled him over? It's the little things like that that made this show hilarious.

Not really surprising but NBC announced they have picked the Office up for a 7th season.
I wonder if this will be the last season or if they will try to stretch it to 8. Not sure how many they have left.

Breastfeeding the wrong baby was predictable? Many moments in the Jim/Pam arch have been moments of pathos, love, and drama instead of straight up comedy. Because of the "Jim + Pam doesn't always have to be funny precedent", ---which, let's face it, has been much more prevalent in their combined screentime lately--- this worked wonderfully for me. I also enjoyed Jim's juvenile response to the male lactation consultant.

This I thought was really funny because it was so ridiculous. I thought Dwight had more good than bad overall. The overly cartoonish pull-over scene with Dwight ditching weapons out the side of his car was made up for by his "Bear my child" demand to Angela. Also, I think Dwight ripping up Jim's kitchen after finding mold is completely within character.

I got to admit though, my perception of this episode may be influenced by our own delivery 7 hours later...

I enjoy the series very much, and I think the writing is still sharp and the jokes still great. What's been lacking this season is character development. The introduction of Erin, in my opinion, has left the show with one too many characters and not enough screen time for them all. In season 3, they wisely phased out certain characters for a few episodes (oscar, phyllis, roy) to make up for the influx of new ones, and that hasn't happened this season. As a result, it feels like they cram too much into each episode, and everyone but the series regulars (and kevin, it seems) gets pushed to the background.

I'd hope the writers use the baby as an excuse to phase out Pam and/or Jim for a bit to give the other characters some more breathing room.

I'm thinking the new baby will mean no more Pam for the rest of this season and the focus will turn to Andy and Erin with Dwight and Angela as a side story. Maybe a surprise appearance by Holly at some point too.

I agree, I hope they bring her back. I think she is still signed for one more episode. Like she signed for so many episodes back when she first appeared and she was one episode short yet of reaching that agreement.

See, that's the type of thing that really annoys me.  There's no way in heck that happens in any sort of alternate reality remotely resembling this one.

Still quite a few good moments thought, and having been through it 3 months ago, the scenes in the hospital were spot on.

Oh, it annoys me too, but I just wanted to point out that there's precedence. After all, this is the same guy who set up his own employee drug task force of one after finding a joint in the parking lot.

It's Dwight Shrute you are talking about, pretty much anything is within character

Having Darrel move up to the main floor is an interesting choice. Seems kind of impractical to me...why would a company want their warehouse guy working on a separate floor from his subordinates? I can see the other warehouse workers resenting him, which could lead to some interesting situations.
