Trick Play

Didn't know where to put this - a great trick play in a college game:

SPOILER: Explanation - When the runner on first tries to steal second, the catcher instead throws the ball to third base, and then chases an imaginary ball to the backstop. The?base-stealer?finishes his slide without a tag, gets up and looks around to see that the catcher apparently still doesn't have the ball. So he takes off to third. Whoops.

I guess this is why you always pay attention to the 3rd Base coach and not where you think the ball is. Although, the brief glimps of the 3rd base coach at the end of the clip almost seems to suggest he was somehow fooled as well (not sure how?).

Edit: I was thinking that I would want to try this with the 7th grade team I coach. However, you really have to rely on the base runner not looking at the catcher while he is running...I think many runners, especially at the youth level, tend to take a peek
