Yo's problem is control. He can get away with it early in his outings with batters chasing balls out of the zone, like they did early in Washington and the Astros did tonight. They stop chasing once they see him a second and third time, and he's been struggling to hit the outside corners. Considering he tries to hit that spot early in the AB, he falls behind early and ends up having to throw fastballs in the zone, and that's when he gets burned.

People are too quick to play the "head case" card with pitchers.

Have you seen his last 3 starts? How do you explain his last start in Washington? Perfect through 3, gives up a hit and then gets shelled from then on. I know he isn't going to doninate every night, but he has been kind of a head case this season IMO.

So tired of people blaming every poor thing on a player's mental condition. They do it with Gomez, Manny Parra, and others. Sometimes, athletes just don't athletically do what is expected of them. It doesnt have to be "his head isn't right" all the time. Golly Gee! Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to get that off my chest.

with Parra I do think it has a little to do with mind games, with Turnbow I have no doubt in my mind it was. It has NOTHING to do with Gallardo's struggles

sub-par performance != head case

That was just terrible, not sure how anyone can defend Betancourt on plays like that.

Yea, even if he didn't get an out, no way that slow roller should have got out of the infield.

It's absolutely awful. If anything get a glove on it and prevent the run from scoring...but he couldn't even do that. People complain about him because of reasons like this! He just cost us a run on a ball that damn near every other SS makes without needing to dive

Maybe we move for something at the deadline. Right now, he's our only option. Seemed to be the neccessary evil to acquire Greinke.

+1 for Adam McCalvy with this subtle jab after that ball snuck through: "No errors for #Brewers tonight. Still have fewest in NL."

I haven't really voiced my opinion on the Betancourt thing but I'm totally OK with him tagging along with Greinke but in no way does that mean Doug should have sat on his hands and not looked to upgrade the spot. It really pisses me off actually to watch that crap out there.
