McGehee seems like a guy who takes this seriously based on his reactions to bad plays and when he looked so relieved breaking his 0-27 slump earlier. RRR is doing him no favors playing him every day or batting him 5th. I'm all for McGehee and I like him, but Taylor Green needs to come up if only to take some of the pressure off.

I like McGehee too but yeah he really shouldn't be playing everyday or hitting 5th. I like his "everyman" persona but sometimes hard work can only carry you so far when you don't have as much talent. Who knows, maybe he is just putting too much pressure on himself. I don't see how having Green come up wouldn't be anything but a plus.

Absolutely I agree, but a coach isn't doing a guy any favors putting him in RISP positions all the time. Let him hit 8th and get some 2 out nobody on ABs.

Morgan slipped when he planted. He went back on the ball and as he turned around and planted his feet gave out from under him. He didn't misjudge it.

Biggest difference between our hitters and BOS & NY - patience exhibited in each at bat. Nice to see what that actually looks like up and down an entire batting order.

The Yankees and Red Sox both do not swing at pitches outside of the strike zone very often.

I know this seems counterintuitive as he has struck out a ton of guys this season, but sometimes it seems like Greinke doesn't have a consistent out pitch. Either that or guys seem to foul away pitch after pitch with 2 strikes until he finally strikes them out. Thoughts?

This team is just pathetic against the AL East. Its a joke. They seem determined to beat themselves.

Perhaps it's just a reflection of the relative quality of the teams.

His slider is fantastic.

And McGehee lolly-gags the tag...PUT IT DOWN...and go to triple-A
Ok, I get that you don't like McGehee right now, but now you're looking for things to blame him for.

I hate inter-league play.

So what if we ever make it to the World Series. We see now what we have to look forward to playing the AL.

Same thing I saw too. Seriously I've been a supporter of him, but he isn't doing anything to justify his existence on the roster much less starting every day and playing in the 5 hole.

They lost 2 of 3 to the Rays, but I wouldn't say they were pathetic. Against the Sox and Yanks, well, most teams look pathetic.
You may run like Mays...

Watch it again, he does not put his glove in front of base for the player to slide into, which is the correct thing to do. Instead he looks where the runner is and lunges at his arm away from the base. This is high school fundamentals

Greinke is just average to me. All he is so far is a "name" to me. He's the real #4 pitcher on this staff.

The guy is what his 2010 number suggest. Good but not great.

I am really tired of trying to defend Greinke's performances to my girlfriend every time she mentions that it sure doesn't seem like he has been nearly as good as we had hoped.
