Well we all knew Axford could have gone 4 outs to get Loe out of there in the seventh. Now K Rod just showed us he can get 4 outs as well!

I think you just go with Axford for the 9th, 15 pitches is enough and K-Rod has 42.2 IP in 42 outings this year.

He's going to end up in the AL for this very reason. Without a DH position available for Prince, I can't envision an NL team offering up as much $$. He's seems to be especially bad this year.

Just figured that they would probably go to Axford to close if he threw 15-20 pitches; however, if they don't score it would be nice to keep Axford for later.

He certainly would be more valuable to an AL team as a DH. A lot of pundits seems to think Anaheim or Baltimore might pony up the $$.
