Oh man, I have to get tickets. QOTSA is the bigger draw for me but I like RATM. Thanks for the info.

By the way the new Queens album (Era Vulgaris)drops tomorrow.

Agree with NDOG, never thought I would see De La Rocha with Rage ever again. Man, I am so jacked, this concert has been a long time coming, now if only I could catch MF DOOM my life would be complete.

I had the pleasure a few years back of scoring front row tickets to the Tibetan Freedom Concert at Alpine. It was a wet day of wall-to-wall music (Beasties, Eddie Vedder, Live, Run DMC, The Cult, on and on). However, Rage totally stole the show. Just thinking back to De La Rocha leaning down and screaming into our faces gives me a little adrenaline rush. Every few minutes I'd take a look back at the towering mountain of humanity with mud flying around like a scene from Lord of the Rings and it gave me chills. One of the best concert experiences I've ever had.

If you get a chance: go.

I'm totally excited for this concert. QOTSA and RATM, talk about a little bit of lubes right there. If only they could add in a sprinkle of Tool and a dash of NIN I'd be in heaven.

Well, that's possibly intriguing. But if I get tickets up front, is it just going to be a stupid mosh pit/shoving match thing?

I love Rage, though.

I would venture to guess that on the grass is where you'll see more of a mosh pit. I'm not in to all that, and have been to some hard rocking shows at Alpine (Clash of the Titans in 1990 with Alice in Chains, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax) and I avoided the dreaded mosh pit.

I moshed in that pit!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The Anthrax moshers were the worst. There is decorum in a pit believe it or not. Those guys just wanted to hurt each other.

Good lord am I excited about this. Any one have any tips about where and when these go on sale? 4 buddies and I had Rage/Beastie Boys tickets for the concert they cancelled. I was heart broken.

Hey! My Rage rumor that I posted came true! (I was convinced that I was wrong when people said it wasn't true because Dave Matthews was playing the next two nights)

One real regret i have in life is that i never saw Alice in Chains.I heard they will be touring this summer, but seeing them without Layne Staley isn't something i can get overly excited about.Alice in Chains were a great band, but Staley's voice is what really set them apart for me.

I second that. I missed AIC this past summer too and while it would have been to see them without Lane, it still would have been cool to hear Jerry Cantrell playing old songs. I wish I could have seen them when they were a complete band.

I love Rage and am thinking of buying tickets this Saturday. Does anyone know of any buses or shuttles that go to and from Alpine? I loathe parking in that place. I got stuck there a few years back for about 3-4 hours waiting to get out.

I'll be there.

Is anyone worried that it might sell out?

I'm going to be traveling for a couple of weeks and won't be around to buy tickets when they go on sale. Should I get a friend to pick one up for me?

I wouldn't take the chance. A reunion (of sorts) of a band that has only one stop in the Midwest? It'll sell out...I think the question is how fast?

I was on right at 10, and waited close to 20 minutes. I finally got to the point to buy tickets, and all that's left is lawn seats.

I think I'm going to pass.

EDIT: I said screw it and bought the stupid lawn seats. If I decide I don't want to go, I'll put them up in the Trading Post forum in the future.

Yeah, I'm thinking that it's going to pretty much just be general admission everywhere. That's ends up being a good thing for me, since I bought two tickets, and then suddenly needed to come up with a third.

Was amazing how fast seated sold out. The first guy in line at the stroke of 10 got it, 30 seconds later lawn. Wow.

77 dollars with tax and Ticketmaster tariff, for lawn. Wow.

This happens for most shows. The fact is, between the radio stations, national vendors, record companies, and fan clubs many of the tickets are gone before the GA even starts.

77 dollars is a chunk. Does it separate out the fees? One thing with the Alpine is that you are paying for parking right on the ticket.

I was actually lucky enough to get 2 seats, section 201, row GG. Total price via ticketmaster was $149. Needless to say, I can hardly contain my enthusiasm!
