Anyone notice Prince's walk-up music tonight?

In his first 3 at-bats he used Pink Floyd - Money, Akon - I'm so Paid, and Lil Wayne - Money on my Mind. Found that interesting. Not sure what it means though. Some people were speculating that he will sign a contract extension soon, but I have a hard time believing that. Maybe it's a message to the Brewers, I'm not sure.

Who's speculating? I haven't heard anything.

On the walk to the game, I explained to my wife the difference between Prince and Braun's situation regarding arby and FA. And then then I pointed out to her the walk up music and made us both laugh. Very interesting indeed.

Just people on twitter as an explanation of why he might've done it. I just think it's interesting that he did that. No one really knows the reason except him.

This is really odd. It makes no sense that he would be "sending a message" to the front office - they obviously know that it's going to cost a lot of money to keep him in Milwaukee. He's also being paid handsomely this year, so there's no reason to be bitter about anything. I'm perplexed.

Maybe the person running the music was trying to be funny.
The music operators usually don't change walk-up music unless the players tell them to. Maybe Fielder told them to play something different each time and this is what they came up with?

He should come out to the Million Dollar Man's theme song. Prince is going to get paid like crazy this offseason, and he'll have earned every penny. Godspeed and good luck, you big beautiful man.

The Brewers audio producer on twitter before the game last night...

Prince doing something interesting with his music tonight. Listen close. There is a theme.
Going off that, it sure seems like Prince picked the songs, and gave the audio producer reason to think there was a specific reason behind the selections.

This would be awesome. I'd definitely get a kick out of that.

If Prince is doing this to send a message to the Brewers, I have lost a little respect for him. I won't argue with him wanting to get paid well, but really, you are going to bring this up now?! After all, isn't he the one that stated he didn't want to talk contract during the season because he didn't want it to be a distraction? It would be nice if this was some sort of indication that he and the Brewers have come to an agreement...but I doubt it.

Just found the tweet and followed the ensuing conversation with Haudricourt. No surprise, Haudricourt reacted to the issue the only way Haudricourt knows how, being completely condescending and publicly demeaning.

I would hope Prince didn't do this to show up the Brewers or send a message, not during this pennet chance. If he did I think that would be horribly tacky and very unprofessional.

Just to change it up I think the theme from SWAT would be cool for Prince. Because, you know, he swats the ball really hard and . . . it would just be awesome.

In fact, the entire lineup should pick out 70s/80s TV theme songs for one night. Maybe on a retro Friday after this thing is clinched.

Hawaii 5-0

Rockford Files

SWAT

Magnum PI

The A-Team

I suggested to Nyjer Morgan via Twitter that he or someone should adopt the theme from S.W.A.T. for walkup music. He did not reply, no doubt realizing immediately how plain Jane whitebread I am.

The walkup music for Prince's first AB today sounded like the 21st Century Fox introduction. If that somehow continues the theme, then I am not sure where he's headed with it.

I think the phrase he used was plain Jane wonderbread, which I think is a little insulting. I guess that's why he's still single and alone.

You're right - wonderbread. Either way, I'm pretty much that. That and I probably spell too well in my tweets to get Nyjer's attention.
