I so desperately do not want to see the Phillies in round 1 of the playoffs (or at all if it can be helped).
The way we're playing right now, Arizona is gonna pass us and not look back.

This is just flat out pathetic right now. Going off the Morgan blow up(even though somewhat instigated), this team apears to be feeling the pressure. Or they are just running out of gas or in terms of certain players, playing exactly how we aspect them to play.
I hate that I agree with this because I don't want it to be the case. But it's hard to argue that it's not. I know we are facing very good pitching and teams lately but the team appears to be pressing big time. Not sure how this loose free-wheeling bunch can get tight so quickly.

Mcgehee expending more energy eyeing up if it's fair or foul than actually playing the ball.

I would almost rather see the Phillies in the NLDS. Better chance to upset them in a best of five.

These are the playoff predictions from the last time the Brewers faced the Phillies in the first round (I don't know why I saved this). I know what you are saying, that with a smaller sample of games to play, there is a greater chance of an upset, but I'd still rather have the D-Backs try for that unlikely upset first. I have no faith in the Brewers matching up against the Phils staff.

the crew again arereally struggling these past 2 weeks and you think we should be getting nervous my number is 5 games.I really don't know why the hitting has really gone south.I have a feeling this board will rejoice when the Brewers let Yuni go after the season.

It's been fun playing the likes of Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Houston for the past month and a half, but this team is gonna have to start playing better baseball against good teams (obviously).

this team has been absolutely embarrassing down the stretch

hard to get excited for a playoff run when you're playing so horribly

Phillies really showing how much difference their is between them and the rest of the national league.

Too bad we can't play Pit or Houston in the playoffs..................

The worst part is that they werent really playing that well, just good enough to win against those teams. Now that they are playing teams with a pulse the warts are showing.

well hopefully the brewers get to play those astros in the playoffs.Opps should be in Blue i guess. I really can't believe they make Yuni Play every day no matter how bad he performs.

We all knew the Brewers were going to go through a slump and lose some games, its better that we do this know than in the playoffs.
It doesnt bode well for you, slump or not, if the team that you are likely to play is walking all over you.

Wait, so if you make it to the dugout without being tagged, you are safe at home? Runners should totally start bypassing the catcher and make a bee line for the dugout. It's like gool in tag.

I heard these 2 guys talking about the Brewers today at lunch and one of them said he doesn't even want for the Brewers to make the playoffs, since he thinks they will get swept in the Nlds.

Fun with numbers...

Brewers 2011 payroll: $85,497,333

Phillies 2011 payroll: $172,976,379

The only team spending more than the Phillies is the Yankees.

Add $100m to the Brewers 2012 payroll

$25m Resign Prince

$18m Reyes

$15m Aramis Ramirez

$12m CJ Wilson

$10m Heath Bell

$12m Papelbon

$8m K-Rod

I like the Brewers chances.

I'm guessing he became a Brewers fan about 3 weeks ago?

I kinda agree with that logic. I am not sure what would be worse, having them miss the playoffs or get swept right out of the playoffs. They are basically the same, but one with more national spot light.
