I thought Broxton would have been an interesting guy to add on a one year deal.

 

It is a one year deal for $4 million.

If he turns things around we can trade for him mid season, can't think of any other reason the Royals would want to spend money on a RP since they aren't likely to compete yet.

I bet few teams were willing to go as high as $4 million. More like $2 million and incentives. I'd have been good with that. But $4 million is a lot for someone coming off elbow surgery.

I'm with Ennder's plan. This is a nice move by the Royals. Hope he pitches well and stays healthy and then deal him for more prospects to augment an already nice farm system. However, they'll probably keep him.
