Gentlemen... The rec department has sent out the league/renewal information for the 2013 season. We have until mid-February to sign up. Do we have enough interest again this year? Since I know many of you will not see this post, I'll try to get the word out via text in the coming days. Roll call...

I forgot to mention, I love that I don't have to see the title, "Beeks you aren't this tough" every time I log on the bf.net.

I got confirmation from DRick and Schubert, so we have a pretty good start. Renewal is due by the middle of this week, I'll get that done and report back.

I want to return. I hadn't checked the softball forum in a while. I hope to convert my gritty veteraness from roster invite to starting a critical position in a playoff game.

Also, I attended annual manager's meeting last week. It sounds like they're planning to implement a mat system for the strike zone, and even plan to expand the zone by including the plate and making the mat behind the plate wider than the plate itself. They will also be doing bat compression testing again this year ... they said something about changing the threshold slightly, but I didn't catch whether that made the test more strict or less strict ... it sounded like a minor change either way.

 

I think that's it for important stuff. We also got our schedule, which I'll post in a separate thread.

What does everyone else think? 13 guys means potential for 3 on the bench for half a game if everyone shows. IMO, I'm in favor of it to cover absences and late arrivals, or even if someone backs out on the team at the last minute. It also lowers everyone's cost by a few bucks. So, I say yes, conditional on anyone else's thoughts.
