Against my better judgment, I just went and perused the "celebration" photos at chicagotribune.com

I'd advise those with weak stomachs to avoid it.

May I repeat, The Worst.

I was a glutton for punishment I watched WGN interview Lou Piniella tonight and then all the (words I can't use here) party it up in Wrigleyville. Ugh I want to cry.

I've kind of learned to despise Piniella this year even though I used to love him. Besides the stinkin' laundry he wears, the way he crapped out on the Devil Rays and then heads off to a team with a nine figure payroll struck me as weak.

Our season ended the minute McClung plunked Pujols. Everything was downhill from there.

We couldn't get it done with everything on the line at home in the last 7 days. We had the advantage, we were at Miller Park where we wanted to be, and we got a gift of a swee from the Marlins over the Cubs, and we couldn't get it done. Period.

As glad as I am that we were in it till the end, my disappointment is bigger than my pride in this situation. We haven't gotten any better, record-wise, since 2005. Ned needs to go. He's not taking this team to the next level. We were 8.5 games up in the division in late June. There are no more excuses. We had the talent, and we have more talent than the Cubs, and we couldn't get it done. We choked. There's no better way to put it, I'm sorry. We had the division in our hands, it was ours to win or lose, and we lost it. There's nothing left, and it's time to start over in management before it's too late. No matter how I try to look at it, 2007 looks like the most wasted season in our franchise history.

Oh man - why did you have to post that stinking picture??!!!! Now I got room to vent and I have already accepted this season as a lost cause. (82 wins notwithstanding) Please delete that pic!!!!!

So...you're a sadist? http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif

Yes I love to spread it around. You know I see something I don't like and I know a place to put it where other people don't like it and make them suffer too well it just makes me feel a little better because somebody will probably get more pissed off about it than I will.http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/happy.gif

So the Cubs, Diamondbacks, and now Rockies manage to turn crappy 2006 seasons into playoff seasons in 2007.

WHY CAN'T WE EVER DO THAT ????????

Weren't we expected to better than all those teams?

Why does our rebuilding go so slow ??

UGH.

Post Game Interviews! Can't these reporters just wait until the post-game press conference? I'd be so annoyed if I was a player.

And they ask such stupid questions too. Pedro Gomez to Todd Helton: "How does a team use 10 pitchers and still win?" How do you answer that? "Score more runs...?"

The Brewers should be getting ready to play in Phoenix this evening.

After a couple days of quiet, having to hear all about the Cubs in the playoffs is stirring up old bad feelings I was just starting to get over.

Yeah. I noticed a bit of an upswing in cubs merchandise worn around campus this week. Yesterday I saw a guy with a cubs player tee on in the Union. It made me grumble a little until I saw that it was a Kerry Wood shirt - which may not bring them the best possible mojo anyway.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I think Ned would be perfect for that job. I think he should ask out of his contract to go to Pittsburgh.

Does that mean the Brewers would actually win next year in that friggin ballpark playing against Ned?

This is why you got the nice little form letter. Sadly prices for tickets in baseball and every other sport seem to rise dramatically every year to cover player salaries. Its sad how the average fan is being priced out more and more each season.

I know the Cubs fouling the sheets against Arizona should make me feel better (and it does, no doubt), but it also makes me angrier that the Brewers couldn't remove their heads from their tails and beat this lousy overpaid heartless Cubs team that we'll doubtlessly hear loudly about from drunk clueless idiots from crummy Chicago suburbs next year at MP.

The Brew Crew went 5-2 against AZ...I'm sure we could've taken at least one game.

This is what TICKS ME OFF about cubs fans!

It looks like the Yankees are about to join the Cubs and Phillies and get smoked by an underdog. I predict that Joe Torre will be cleaning out his office an about an hour or so.

The Indians were a better team than the Yankees, and the Diamondbacks were the best team in the NL, how the hell do they think they were an underdog. I can't stand this arrogance that goes around down below us, the Diamondbacks crushed them, and they were better, end of story.
