Revisiting the Brewers Top Prospect List Pre-2010

[Jim Goulart]

Prospect guru John Sickels of MinorLeagueBall tweeted out a flashback Thursday list to his Top 20 (plus) for the Brewers as of January 4th, 2010 -- essentially five years ago.

It is a fascinating reminder of what can (and mostly can't) develop.

It looks like they batted about .333 with his top 21. That really doesn't sound all that bad; a lot of good players were on that list. Lucroy is the best of the bunch but Escobar, Cain, Lawrie, Scooter, Odorizzi, and Peralta is a pretty good haul out of a farm system.

Maverick Lasker, private investigator. Great! I really wish Eric arnett wasn't terrible.

Five of the first eight developing into MLB starters seems pretty good. Two of the next 13 seems pretty awful.
