Midseason Top 50 Prospects Chat

Wrenzie Blogs Giants (Philippines): Does Tyler Beede deserve a spot in the top 51-100 prospects list if you could expand it to Top 100? I feel that he's good enough to be considered.

John Manuel: He was strongly considered along with several other 2014 first-round pick pitchers such as Grant Holmes and Touki Toussaint (who definitely throws 96 ... don't get me started). Beede's breaking ball is the big question, as it was last year. It's better than it was last year but it's still not consistently an average pitch. That's going the big piece for him. I'm confident with his athleticism and strength, plus the Giants' coaching, that he'll throw enough strikes to have control to start.

Well to be fair Touki Toussaint doesn't throw 96... he now throws 98 MPH (ARTICLE LINK)
