Surprised I haven't seen a post about this one. Maybe because it was reported a half hour after the deadline had passed. The Pirates sent Liriano, Harold Ramirez, and Reese McGuire to Toronto for Drew Hutchison. Seems like Pittsburgh just wanted to get rid of Liriano.

The fact they dumped his salary AND 2 of their top 10 prospects for Hutchinson is unreal.

I'm pretty sure you're confusing Turner with someone else as Turner was part of a prospect laden 3 team deal.

We did this with Isan Diaz.

 

The best prospect in a "buy it" deal that I can remember was Touki. Who now has regressed and they overpaid for.

I wouldn't say that Touki has regressed, he still doesn't have FB control, let alone FB command, he needed to end up with Giants like Beede did, they've done very well control projects.
