Attending the Winter Meetings

I'm sure there will be Winter Meeting threads in the Major League and/or Trade Rumors sections but I'm going at a different angle.

 

My son, a 3rd year student at UW-Madison has begun sending out applications for internships that are baseball related (including one for Baseball Info Solutions that included a really cool test of watching video of at bats and plays where he was then asked to determine pitch type or describe the play in 2 sentences).

 

One of the suggestions was to attend the Winter Meetings and go through the job fair. Now, it sounds like I may tag along with him.

 

Has anyone attended in the past for some helpful hints?

Interesting experience. My son was dissapointed that his class schedule meant he could only stay the first couple of days, but did get an understanding of how the job fair works and is already looking forward to next year in San Diego.

 

Good conversations with fans of other teams (always a great thing in the middle of winter) and able to bump into different people throughout the casino area. Told my son that I must finally be maturing as I didn't make any snide remarks when I came across Tony Larussa.
