Duffy is on the IL with a flexor strain, estimated to be out 3-4 weeks. Interesting move considering. Passan noted they might pitch him in relief, so certainly possible/probable they aren't done adding with this move.

This guy popped in my head as a sneaky one for us to get. Out for a few more weeks so shouldn't cost much other than money. Then we could use him in the Burnes/Woodruff type multi inning relief role of the past, come in for 2-3 innings and throw gas. Think Pomeranz when we got him. But, I'd guess they plan on Houser/Lauer transitioning to those spots for the playoffs.

Yup, has Pomeranz written all over him to me. But like you said, not cheap and is injured so definitely a chance he doesn't contribute at all this year.
