ezBoard Time Change pool

Posted
I think we should have a pool guessing when ezBoard will adapt to Standard Time. My guess is Wednesday at 1:15 PM. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

After a ~5 hour outage tonight (and still able to get in sporatically), I'd imagine they have some serious non-time change stuff going on.

And actually, I think Brian might have to manually change it.

Good to know I wasn't the only one.

Wow, that was scary. I don't remember it ever happening where both the website and the message board were out of commision at the same time for such an extended period.

The home page of the site is dependent on the message board being up (because of the forum summary on the front page). That's a dependency that I should remove.

Regarding the time change, maybe I should leave it as-is, as i'd like to formally protest daylight savings time.

Well, I'd like to formally protest Standard Time. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Leaving the time as is would accomplish that, too.

I'm also glad to hear that the problems with Brewerfan was global and not just me. I had computer problems yesterday and had to restore to an earlier date and suddenly Brewerfan.net wasn't working. Neither was another ezboard site that I visit. Glad to hear that it wasn't my fault.

If you meant Wednesday of this week, /buzzer sound/.

I'm looking at this as an opportunity for us central types to live like we're Eastern time zone people. Mass Haas must finally feel right at home. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Either that, or it's like pretending to be Indiana.

Brian, how much were you kidding? Too often this last month I've looked at the forum time, then a local clock, then back to the forum time, then back to a local clock...then I start humming Chicago's anthem "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is." This in turn makes my S.O. (a longtime Chicago fan) want to put on his Chicago albums.

Help me!

I don't like the fact that Congress can screw with time. Pretty soon my property taxes will be based on a space-time continuum. And Lord Obama will say it's so.

Religious leaders have screwed with time, too. But I guess I shouldn't be mentioning that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

I'll offer a comforting Yuku tidbit.

Brian will be able to set a default time for these forums. Users will also be given the power to set their time zones. When a person is logged in, the user-set time zone will prevail.

I see nothing about automatic handling of daylight time, though. I'll check into that.

You know what peeves me? In a few hours, this site is finally going to reflect "real Central time" (for lack of a better phrase)...and at the moment I'm not only in the mountain time zone, but in the one state where DST is not observed.

I've all but accepted that I'm going to lose track of time at least once over the next few days.
