This is Wisconsin football. Beating up on the likes of Purdue in the trenches.

Better than the alternative which we have seen far too often in the last few years

That might be the worst call in the history of football, given that they have access to replay in games today.

At least a call without the words Fail Mary attached to it.

Another great performance from Mertz. He's much improved from last year, with the boneheaded decisions becoming increasingly rare. 1st TD pass was something none of our QBs since Wilson could do. 2nd one wasn't that easy either.

I'm trying to remember, was the simultaneous possession part of it not reviewable?  Or did they review it and still make a terrible call like this one here?

The only thing the receiver possessed was the defensive back who had the ball.

Baby steps but they're definitely playing better week to week.

I think this was more than a baby step. This is the most impressive victory I've seen from this team in years.

I'm judging more big picture from where things were when Leonard took over including last week's loss.

Still lots of loose ends but at least looks more like badger football

The refs are going to make sure the game isn't as close as the score would indicate.

The over already hit with the terrible TD call so I don't really see the point right now.

Most impressive victory since Iowa last year, or Michigan in 2020, or Minnesota in 2019, off the top of my head.

The Michigan game was the one that came to my mind.

Unless they lay a major egg sometime in the next four weeks, this should solidify Leonhard as the permanent head coach.

Yeah, I needed to see today after the step back last week. I think he's got control of the locker room now, after he issued the ultimatum to the players.

Last week's loss is such a shame because we would've had a legitimate shot at going to Indy...

I don't have a lot of interest in seeing them get mauled by Ohio st again.

get 7-8 wins, get a condiment bowl and let Leonhard settle into the role.

BIG West title still means something. At the very least, we would be able to say we had our worst season in years and still were better than Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, and co. Also, it's a fun time down in Indy, as I was there for 2017 and 2019.

Yeah, let Illinois take that (butt)-whipping.

How would you like to be Iowa right now?  Their leading scorers are a tie between Caleb Johnson and the defense.  Defense has more TDs than their QB.  And on top of that, their former WR Charlie Jones has more than twice as many receiving yards for Purdue this year than he had all of last year with Iowa.

Between the offensive PI call and the TD call i swear someone has money on the game

Yeah...I did. I had a 4 way parlay. Badgers+the Over+Bama(+21) and the Under.

I'd have been more annoyed if Purdue hadn't scored another late TD, but...still...would have been nice.

You seem to be ignoring that that Michigan team was horrible and COVID riddled. That whole season should be written off as a meaningless exhibition.

Pointing to any game that season as a high point is pretty damning.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
