Of course I don't think anyone ACTUALLY thinks that about Hader...who had a ERA quite a bit higher than Chapman did during his irredeemable season!

But I guess Chapman at 7.5+incentives is the third rail on here. 

Obviously I’m not changing your mind on Chapman’s baseball abilities at this point (and that’s okay), but that’s a totally false (and somewhat disturbing) equivalency you just tried to draw between Hader and Chapman. 

Besides Hader being squarely in the middle of his prime and Chapman being entirely outside his, their off the field history is nothing alike. Hader’s Twitter posts, while obviously completely wrong, occurred when he was a teenager. Chapman, on the other hand, was a full-fledged adult when he DREW AND FIRED A GUN ON HIS FAMILY and put his girlfriend into a chokehold. But totally similar situations…

Nor should we pretend that Hader reportedly insisting that he pitch the 9th inning for financial reasons is the same as literally QUITTING ON YOUR TEAM and flying off to a different state right before the postseason…

Do you think we should go ahead and sign Trevor Bauer, too?

Anyways, I like and agree with what you post generally and will just have to accept that we don’t see eye to eye on Chapman the baseball player. But there is no equivalency between Josh Hader the person and Aroldis Chapman the person.
