Is Mark A positioning the Brewers for a sale?

I'm not even sure if it's trolling. I call it willful ignorance.

In all seriousness, it was a great interview and I appreciate that Mark A gives the insight that he does.  It's not going to be a fair fight, and they aren't going to have the resources other franchises do when you sit in the 30th largest market and there is a very good chance that the next owner will spend less.

My thoughts I understand the ability to keep for the future but with one of the best if not the best rotation in baseball I would like to see him go all in and get Milwaukee it’s first WS. I hope that instead of trading something in the long of lines of Hader keeping the big three and add at the right time.

Careful that's heresy according to SveumRules and Ron Robinson beard.  How dare you question our Principal Owner and Grand Leader.  He is doing the best job possible.  Just ask him...if you can find him.  Usually in LA.

Mark A and apologists are looking for that right mythical time when everything is right to go in and take a bite of the apple.  Having the best rotation in franchise history doesn't seem to qualify as a criteria in their decision process. Much better just to agree with the message.  Mark A in his recent interview has even drop the pretence of winning a WS.  Just want's to compete now.

Attendance this year will be the real test is fans have bought into the program or not.

Thank you for the impartial recap.

Cubs opened up their wallet $65M wider than the Brewers this year, where’s it gonna get them?

The Phillies have over double our payroll and haven’t won a game yet.

Teams like the Angels, Rangers and Giants are spending around $60M to $90M more on payroll in hopes of just reaching the Brewers level.

If your takeaway after a bunch of rookies and a reclamation project like Winker just rattled off three straight exciting wins is “durrr, Mark A cheap” you may be letting your economic biases take precedence over the actual baseball games.

My God its the first few games in April.  Typical Brewer fan think these 5 games proves something and we are the 27 Yankees..

Phillies won yesterday.

It hasn't been a week yet.

Lets revisit in June and see where things are at.

I agree, let's revisit this in June.  My guess is you won't be here.

LOLS.  I will be and its a date.

And if you are your posts will go something like "Wow I'm so happy I was wrong, this team is great".  It's mentally the easy way out to be the pessimist.  If they do poorly you get to say "I told you so, I'm so smart".  If they do great you're happy to be wrong.

You got me all figured out Sherlock.  Lols.

Said in early post on different threads that if this team wins 83 games it will be a miracle.  Burnes will be traded at or around the deadline.  Crew will not extend Woody or Adames.  Mark A within 6 years will sell the team.

I'm not a pessimist.  I'm a realist.

See you in June.

Judging by your attitude in your posts, this must be your first date in years…isn’t it?

And there will always be Yes men.

RRB is definitely on the positive side of the poster spectrum but hardly a yes man - they are plenty critical of the team/players/owner at times. Difference is they at least have some balance to their posts unlike you. You are nothing more than a troll.

It is posts like this that lose you any credibility (not sure you had much left) you may have had on this board. You hear what you want to hear and just make stuff up.  At least you’ve learned he’s only, and now call him, the principal owner and not sole owner who can just do whatever (baby steps). Now you just need to find a way to understand the financial differences between baseball teams.

Ah, there it is.  The “I’m not a pessimist. I’m a realist.” post.  Just because your negative, does not give you any special insight on the team over those who choose a positive approach and doesn’t make you a realist.

If you are so certain about the Brewers being crap - back it up.  If they don’t win 83 games (since that’ll be a miracle!), why don’t you quit posting?

I willingly concede that I have always been, and likely always will be an eternal optimist. That includes having faith in this team's ownership and front office to make the decisions that will lead to the team remaining competitive both now and in the future. They've made moves I've disagreed with over the years, and I haven't been afraid to show my disappointment in those. If that makes me a "yes man", I guess guilty as charged.

Can't we just ban the troll already. They make the same post over and over and add nothing to this site.

@Brock BeauchampI've seen a rugby forum have the option to block a poster in order to not see their posts if it's just tiresome for you, for whatever reason (constant disagreements etc) is this a possible feature here? Saves having to ban anyone and just let people choose if they don't want to participate with someone here

Absolutely, I don't mind people being critical or having substantive debates but at this point nothing new is being added and it's actively bringing the quality of the board down imo. When it's the same person doing this it should be an easy fix

Edit: the poster above me suggesting an ignore feature would also suffice

If you mouse over hover a username, a card will appear. One of the options there is to put that user on ignore.

I disagree with nearly everything Blighty Brew posts, but they add some spice to things now and then. But agree that their taking over the thread can be obnoxious.

I also wonder if Blighty is getting nervous with the good start. The routine would fall pretty flat if the Brewers happened into a miraculous WS victory.

I find interesting the interplay between fans (like myself), who enjoy the sustained run of success due to responsible spending and reinvestment in the organization as a whole, and fans who believe in the "championship window" approach; that "going for it" is the ONLY responsible decision management can make. Too, I enjoy better understanding the second-place-is-the-first-loser mentality that some fans employ.

I'm on the record being one of Blighty Brew's "yes men," when it comes to Attanasio. I think he's one of the great owners across sports, and if he were to sell the Brewers, I would be quite fearful that the next ownership group would immediately be looking to move the team elsewhere.

I always get a chuckle when extreme pessimists call themselves realists lol
