Walking Bae on 4 straight, and from the sound of it the last couple weren't close. Williams REALLY felt confident about facing Jason Delay there.

I understand Blake Perkins bunted for a base hit? Dang, I miss all the good stuff.

Great win last night.   Was just looking up some numbers and found this interesting:  Did not see if this was against LH starters/RH Starters.

If my quick numbers are correct Yelich has 9 games batting cleanup.   5/36 with a .128 BA.  0 homers, 4 singles, 1 double, 6 walks.

Yelich in 3 hole:  6 games: 4/25 with a .160 BA.  0 homers, 3 singles, 1 double.  2 walks.

Small sample size but the current stats tell a unique story on 2023 maximization.  Position in the order and that daily consistency makes a huge difference.

Pretty sure the 2023 Yelich version should be batting leadoff every game.  Regardless of who is on the mound.   With our struggles at hitting, in general, we have to start maximizing batting order trends of hitters.  I am fine sacrificing an AB a game on some guys place in the batting order to follow the trends.  Counsell, as a former utility guy/swiss army knife type player should really start respecting these trends for hitters and their current comfort level/place in order.

I’m pretty sure that Yelich has only batted cleanup against LH starters.

I like Yelich batting leadoff too but at this point he would probably be their best choice batting anywhere from first through fourth on a team full of hitters that should be hitting 8th or 9th the way they have been hitting for the last month or so. Only Contreras should be up higher.

I wouldn’t take Yelich’s results in that small number of PAs as a sign that he hits worse in the 3 or 4 spots or that the team would be better off with him batting first all the time. As long as some of the players that were expected to be run producers (Adames, Tellez, Winker) are OPSing in the .500 range as they have been for extended periods, you’re not going to score many runs. It doesn’t matter where in the order the solo HRs come from.

Last night was a good win, but hardly a show of offensive strength with Hill’s first inning wildness being the main ingredient.
