Like I said earlier, if the FO feels it'll work, OK. Bryce Wilson & Julio Teheran were teammates in ATL. Maybe their brains were picked a little.

If it doesn't happen, you'd think a Black callup becomes highly likely as this getting out isn't exactly a glowing endorsement for BA.

I'm just guessing, but I bet the source on this is not the Brewers,  Brewers generally do a very good job of keeping things in-house until a trade/signing actually happens and they have nothing to gain by leaking it.  More likely Donaldson's agent leaked something to drum up more interest in his client and it could be an exaggeration.

So I don't think this getting out necessarily says anything about how the Brewers feel about BA.   Although ... his lack of PT lately probably tells us all we need to know.  I still don't want Donaldson tho.  There's a video circulating of his baserunning errors form the last couple years and it's ... not good.

If anyone should get a call-up from Nashville to replace Anderson it’s Cam Devanney, who unlike Black can defend 3B near as well as Anderson. .900 OPS in the last 90 days after getting his stroke back following his early season injury.

11% BB-rate & 17% K-rate on the year as well.

I really like Devanney, BUT...again, I'll just point out Donaldson is still hitting the ball hard(92.8 exit velo, over 50% hard hit % and 10% walk rate).

I like Devanney a lot, but I could see Donaldson having a really nice Sept.

I've liked Devanney going back to last season. I'd certainly put him ahead of a guy like Patrick Dorrian, who rode a recent hot streak & got some love for it. You're right, he's a terrific defender & versatile. But I think Black put himself in good stead by showing a good glove since moving to AAA. In retrospect, I wonder if the organization regrets not promoting him to Nashville a week or two before they did.

We'll find out soon, I guess.
