Last page link - reducing page hits

When a post has many pages of replies, the link to the last page has a stop value set to the current end e.g. start=21&stop=34. To get to the last post of a page, a refresh will not work, a previous page must be clicked to reset the last page link, or the stop must be manually set to 40.

 

I think if the last page link always had a stop of 20 * page number, it would cut down on needless page hits, especially on very active game threads.

That's something that I've found annoying for quite some time. This season what I've taken to doing for the game threads is temporarily changing my preferences to display 500-1000 posts on a page (normally I do 50). That way I can just refresh the page and get the latest posts.

No, I just figured we'd just use a series of post-its. I'll keep them at my house, and anyone who wants to read the forum can just drop on by.
