Adam McCalvy of MLB.com dropped a great rundown with General Manager Matt Arnold that covers a variety of topics.

The Brewers, despite acquiring Jake Bauers earlier in the offseason, still (rightly) feel they need corner infield help. Carlos Santana was mentioned specifically as an option. Santana, one of last year's successful trade deadline acquisitions, posted a .773 OPS with the Brewers down the stretch and helped push their beleaguered offense back into the postseason. Arnold also mentioned that prospect Tyler Black has a legitimate shot to make the Opening Day roster, probably as a third baseman.

Other interesting tidbits mentioned were updates on Aaron Ashby and the fact that the team is not considering Christian Yelich as an option at first base.

Long time reader and lurker, but first-time poster.  I consider myself a pretty calm and even keeled person and preach being in control of your emotions to my athletes, but as blindsided as the Brewers were with the Counsell debacle I am not sure that I could help myself from not freeing up a little extra payroll money this year to make a little statement.   Corner infield is our obvious need right now and we have the ability to overpay a little to fill one position by bringing up Black to play third base.  Rhys Hoskins to me is who I would target.  He checks all the boxes, including getting him and the Cubs not getting him.  I know it takes two to tango and the contract will likely be quite expensive, but we have to take advantage of our youth surge of talent at lower cost and pair that with more expensive talent that are good role models.

I think I enjoy this part of the season even more than then the regular season.  I am intrigued with the roster building process and having a young talented top of the end minor league system really makes it even more interesting.

First, welcome to the site!

And second, I entirely agree. Spending a bit of coin and trying to land Rhys Hoskins for two years - provided he's available for that length of contract - would be a great get for the Brewers.

This is the Brewers. They love positional versatility. Isiah Kiner-Falefa has long seemed like the perfect Brewer to me. Not an overly exciting guy, but he's consistent, plays a lot of positions well, makes contact, and gets on base at an acceptable clip.

He's just another guy that is equal to taking your cousin to prom.

I want nothing to do with IKF.

From a former coach to a current one....nice debut, rookie😉.

I think Hoskins would look really good in a Brewer uniform. But with Black on the cusp & Wilkin looking like he might be fast-tracked (I still think 1B is a possibility for him), I don't see them wanting to go more than two years on a deal, and I think someone else would offer three.
