Brewers Waiting On Free Agent Market Clarity, Then May Pursue Willy Adames & Corbin Burnes Trades

Busch is a weird combination of statistical traits I love in a hitter with red flags I usually watch out for. On one hand, the guy is a pure line drive, use the whole field hitter who can hit for power without selling out for launch angle or to pull the ball. If he can keep this going it should lead to elevated BABIPs even with his fringy speed. Oh, and he takes walks. He also is an older prospect with little defensive value who posted two straight seasons of 25% K rates and struggled to make consistent contact in his big league debut.

Again, just passing along what Badler said about Busch. He loves the bat and thinks he’d fit solidly at 1B. When he mentioned that he’d be a top half 1B in the league….he was talking about his rookie year next year. Didn’t get the sense that he was talking about his ceiling.

Adames for Busch would be fine by me. Busch should be a solid 1st baseman, however I would go after Miguel Vargas before Busch. I doubt the Dodgers would be in on Burnes after Glasnow, Ohtani, and Yoshi but who knows it wouldn't be to crazy.

Doubt Burnes goes anywhere until the trade deadline, if at all..

Surprised Adames is still around but we have holes to fill and he should net a decent return.

Keeping Willy makes sense, we won't get much more value than a comp. pick at this point. Odds are that he should hit better than last year and then be worth the 50 million and get that pick.

Still hoping there is a team that will give us an acceptable trade for Burnes after Snell and Montgomery sign.

Montgomery to SF, Snell to NYY.

Then Rangers get Burnes and Payamps for Brock Porter, Owen White, Abrimalec Ortiz, and Marc Church

Trade Weimer/Mitchell, Bryse Wilson, and Freddy Zamora for Josh Naylor

Elvis Peguaro for Jonathan Aranda

 

Edit: Nevermind getting Hoskins changes my mind on trading Burnes, full steam ahead.
