The 7th playoff team really dilutes the product, which the NFL sure loves to do. Any AFC team thinking "Oh no, I sure hope we don't have to play Denver"? And then these small Divisions and the 9-7 Buccaneers are looking at a home game.

Saquon gets 2,000 yards and we don't even have to put a "But it was a 17-game season" on an asterisk. And to think he wanted to stay in New York.

The NFL needs to reseed the playoff format to where the teams with the better records always have the higher seeds. If you win your division that's fine, you qualify for the playoffs, but they shouldn't be rewarded with a home game if the teams that didn't win their division still have a better record than you.

I wonder if a trend will emerge of teams hiring a "Clock Management Specialist" who talks in the ear of the coach late in games.

And I don't know why there aren't more time outs right before two minutes instead of letting the clock wind a ways down to the Warning. If the offense is running the ball to kill the clock, call your timeout at 2:03.

McVay has a clock management special assistant. I get it. I can't imagine how much is going on during an NFL game and how fast 40 seconds must be on the field.

Sure didn’t work out that way in the NFC this year. We’d have no current control of our own destiny and be potentially on the outside looking in this year with a 12-5 record under a 6 team playoff format .

I don't disagree with you but at that point why have Divisions at all? The excitement of a rivalry doesn't wane if we only play the Bears once instead of twice, plus the schedule difficulty between teams probably evens out a lot more without the play-twice rule.

The NFl does the division winner home game thing to spread around the home playoff revenue and to have the games played in different regions. If they just did it by seeding you could see the same teams getting the home playoff games every year. There is so much parity in the NFL that I think it would be fine to stop it and maybe go to 8 team divisions but with only 1 team getting a bye not much reason for that anymore. We just have to put up with the South divisions sucking forever I guess.

Wow! Atlanta probably just lost the game on that snap.

I know that was a tough ask but Penix has got to find a way to get out of the pocket with the ball (which he did) and just chuck that thing out of the back of the endzone (which he didn’t).

Maybe not.

That was a hell of a play on 4th and 13, but with this amount of time left I don’t have any reason to believe that Daniels isn’t going to drive right down for the game winning field goal.

Atlanta’s coach is horrendous at clock management. At the end of both halves he burned a ton of time and kept timeouts in his pocket after big gains.

It's just mind boggling to me how professional football coaches can suck so bad at clock management. It's practically a leaguewide problem.

If he calls timeout after that first long gain there’s a good chance the Falcons get down in actual FG range. I get that you’re making these decisions in the spur of the moment but you’d think he would have learned from his botch at the end of the first half. Nope.

The Commanders can lose to the Cowboys. The Packers can lose to the Bears. I don't think tonight's results really seal anything as far as GB's opponent. Goofy stuff happens in games like that on the final weekend seemingly every year.

Did Quinn leave two timeouts in his pocket or just one? One is bad enough. Two is a firable offense.

I mean Morris. Guess I'm still thinking Quinn coaches the Falcons.

There is no way the Packers can lose to the Bears. None.

It took a DT's fingertip to prevent it the first time. This is still professional football. Anyone can beat anyone.
