It's brutal what the Carolina League has done with hardly any affiliates sending their announcers on the road anymore.

Oooooof. Going to miss Greg very much on the nightly. He was a fantastic announcer for the Mudcats. Extremely well prepared with fantastic flow. I wish him all the best wherever he lands next.

Greg was my fav Carolina League broadcaster. I am sad to see him leave but I hope he still does PxP for someone! I am worried the new person will not say Zeb - u - len and say Zeb- u - lon??!!!!

As recently as two weeks ago the job opening was posted. Still an active listing

It is going to be difficult to acclimate to the position quickly. Would not be surprising if things are unfilled for a bit. From a baseball perspective purely, it’s the PBP calls (home games only) and media notes in terms of the obvious fan impacts.

The position entails much beyond that, especially in the offseason.

Remember, the Mudcats are owned by the Brewers so they will have the call on the hire.

So... I have a update! I have a friend that used to work with the cats and he said the cats are trying to make a deal with someone.

Like Biloxi’s Javik Blake, Casey is a Massachusetts native (I have family in East Longmeadow), and has Cape Cod League experience. Nice that his most recent work was also in the Carolina League.

I am glad it's not someone brand new to the area. I saw Nathan "he works for the cats" today at something and asked if that they found one and he said yes we met him Fri and he is a great guy!

So I talked with a friend of mine this morning and he said he does not think the Mudcats were happy with him. So I think he might not be on the call on Tuesday at 6:00....
