Yoho: 7 K in 3 IP tonight. Bahahahahah. My goodness he's just such a STUD. T-Rats win it 4-1. They move to 18-10 and move ahead of Quad Cities into 1st place.

Agree on Yoho.  From what little I watched of Manfredi I like his delivery and his stuff looks solid. Hunt is interesting his stuff looks nasty too but control could be his issue maybe why he’s still at low A?

Hunt is really intriguing. Control isn't an issue, really. He is ready for High-A. Dominanced yet again tonight for a 3 inning Save. I mean come on, now. 27 K: 4 BB in 16 IP? Control? Really? Not hearing it. He's been shutdown electric. Yet to concede a run. 0.61 WHIP. 0.107 BAA. Just send him to High-A for crying out loud.

I believe the combined line for the Smiths in Biloxi is something absurd like 45 strikeouts to 4 walks.

Have you heard me talk about pitching? LOL. Absurd early season performances.

Ok. I’ve watched only a couple of games and several highlights - so with that disclaimer I thought he looked effectively wild. Will overmatch young hitters. I am likely to be wrong- that’s why I spend most evenings here (since I rediscovered bf.net) to see highlights, watch games or gameday/box score updates and hear from you all.  This is the most excited I’ve been about the minors since 2001-2005 years.

I'd love to see Russell Smith get promoted to AAA. He's Rule 5 eligible this offseason, so might as well see what he can do at the highest level of the minors.

It's been a rough first 3 games for the ACL Crew. They trail 10-3 in the 7th after six runs over the past two frames. This will push the youngsters to 0-3 on their extremely young season.

RHP Isaiah Jackson (Late July 2023 Free Agent pick-up - really intriguing at the time) just struck out the Athletics side in the 8th inning. All three went down swinging.

Quote

“The Milwaukee Brewers called me after the draft and gave me an offer, and I didn’t accept it. I didn’t feel the price was right for me to opt out of college and start my professional career,” Jackson said. “(Wednesday), they called me again, and they doubled their offer.

(From Nashville's post-game article)

Enoli Paredes added his team-leading fourth save, not allowing an earned run in the 10th. Paredes has a 1.13 ERA (16.0 IP/2 ER), a 0.88 WHIP and .161 opponent batting average through 14 relief appearances this season.

AND, the Brewers have RHP Corbin Martin on the 40-Man. Someone make it make sense?

Martin has options and Paredes doesn't.

Being healthy seems to suit Wes Clarke. And with Tyler Black promoted and the fact we’re never calling up Francisco Mejia, we might as move Clarke move to AAA. Just a thought.

He shoulda been in N'ville to start the season if you ask me.

Looks like Boeves' floor right now is AA, Wilkin is back, so Martinez is playing jumbo OF. And hopefully Carlos D isn't out too long. Looks like they'd really benefit from freeing up the DH spot. Not a whole lot left for Clarke in AA.

You really hafta keep running him out there as long as he's sound. But it's getting painful & exasperating to see Ashby struggle so badly.

Then there's Yoho, who I agree obviously needs to climb. With not only the short starts in Milwaukee, but other places as well, it's downright fun to see so many relief arms doing extraordinary things in the system.

Starters too.

It’s incredible the leap this farm system has taken with pitching, thanks to the ‘23 draft, but also other non-‘23 draftees starting to breakout as well from the Woessner’s to some of the internationals (Galindez-Herrera, others, plus too many relievers to list).

From a positional rich system to at worst, a balanced system, maybe now even more pitching rich, especially depth-wise.

Those were some fun boxscores to read today. Great to have Brown, Wilken, and Clarke back. The awesome pitching performances were so fun.

Are there guys in Nashville that the Brewers don't feel like they can release for depth-reasons? I ask this because like the rest of you, some of these guys are looking at promotions. Maybe there's just an organizational log jam making promotions hard.

I also think that sending Ashby to Arizona could help. Take a little performance-pressure off, and really get him honing his mechanics.

Back to the pitching lab.

Take the innings he has had this year and try to figure out what works, and hone it.
