Wenderlyn King (4 IP | 6 H | 1 R | 0 BB | 1 K) and Luis Pena (1-2, HBP, 2B, SB, lone run scored) get the game balls in the DSL Uno's 4-1 loss today.

17-year-old Venezuelan OF Angel Gonzalez with his marquis DSL moment today. Bottom of the 8th. 2 on. 2 out. Smacks a 3-run go-ahead bomb to give the suddenly charging DSL Cerveceros an 8-5 lead! That lead would hold for Gonzalez's fellow 18-year-old teammate and countryman RHP Argenis Aparicio who closed the game out. Aparicio has been quite solid for the DSL Brewers Dos showing improved numbers and results across the board in his second DSL season with the organization. Today, he did the heavy-lifting allowing for the comeback and holding it down to secure the 'W': 5 IP,  3 H, 2 BB, 5 K, 1 ER. He did throw two scored WP in there but, hey, you gotta keep those young opponents on their heels! The DSL Dos moved to 10-7 on the season. Quite the run they are on.

I should add, later in the contest the scorers credited Peralta with 1 ER. Hard to make - reading the game logs - what exactly happened in Corobo's scored throwing error.

18-year old RHP Enniel Cortez makes his 2nd Low-A start (4 scoreless IP with 5 Ks last time out) as Carolina aims to grab a 2-1 home series lead over Lynchburg. SS Daniel Guilarte has a 6-game hitting streak. Pratt and Walling remain absent after leaving Tuesday’s game early.

DH/OF Garrett Mitchell is right back atop AAA Nashville’s lineup after leaving yesterday’s game early. RHP Taylor Clarke (3.46 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 7.3 K/9 in 26 IP) is also back from injury and starting. The AAA Sounds are tied 1-1 in their series at Jacksonville.

Glad to see Mitchell back in the lineup already.

Totes! This is great news. Precautionary lil tweak. Not out of the woods yet but a good sign for sure.

Not watching right now. But Mitchell was lifted for pinch hitter. Hoping purely precautionary since he got a hit in the 3rd. Was stranded. Played the field twice. And it’s a 8-0 blowout against the Sounds as Taylor Clarke is struggling.
KC Hunt doing well though 4. Bats quiet. It’s been a rough month for Barrios (after his fast start) and Lara (really since his injury).

E. Cortez with a nice start for that young man. Bullpen giving it away as Lynchburg now leads 5-4 after a 3-1 lead for Cortez.

Shuckers appear to be in a rain delay. Up 1-0 bottom of 3. Wichrowski thru 3IP with 2H, 3BB, 2K 0R.

Zavier Warren has driven in all three Biloxi runs with a one run single in the second and a two run triple in the fourth as the Shuckers lead 3-1 heading to the sixth inning.

Dylan O’Rae has reached in all three trips (two singles, one walk) and stolen his 5th AA bag, though he has also been caught for the 2nd & 3rd time.

Ramon Rodriguez double + Eduarqui Fernandez & Luis Lara singles + Gregory Barrios sac fly = two Rattler runs bottom of seven to take a 3-2 lead.

Aaron Rund pitched a 1-2-3 top of the eighth (1 K).

Justin Chambers (Bryan Hudson trade) is on the mound for the Zona Dodgers here in the top of the second.

Looks like he has gone 2.0 IP | 4 R | 2 H | 4 BB | 2 K in the first three outings of his young career.

Aidan Maldonado had a nice outing in the 5-4 Carolina loss going two scoreless with 1 H | 3 K.

Miguel Briceno (two doubles, stolen base) and Satchell Norman (double, walk, stolen base) showed off some thump and some speed while Yhoswar Garcia stole his 34th and 35th bags of the year.

Yerlin Rodriguez looked pretty nasty closing out the 9th. Fastball hanging out at 97 and a slider to the final batter that I swear looked like a curveball.

He is nasty. Filthy tools. Unfortunately, at this juncture, extremely inconsistent with zonal accuracy. BUT, as you are seeing, and as I was saying throughout his early hot streak of this High-A season, he has all the tools for a high-leverage reliever.

Or maybe not after all?

I swear they had him listed as entering the game in the play log, but when I checked back to see how the inning went he has disappeared from the box.

Strange things afoot in the friscalating dusk light of the AZ desert.

Either way, Zona Crew picked up their first run of the game with Pedro Ibarguen & Eric Martinez walking, a Tyler Rodriguez single loading the bases and an Antony Gomez ground out scoring Pedro.

Currently trailing 3-1 after three innings.

He was definitely listed as entering for the 2nd inning at one point.

Eric Martinez single, Johan Barrios HBP, Antony Gomez single, (throwing error by Mairoshendrick Martinus), Josh Adamczewski double, and an Eric Bitonti bomb added up to five runs for the Zona Crew who now lead 6-3 heading to bottom of five.
