I started a thread roughly a year ago to sell high on him and got a lot of backlash.  I’ll save the victory lap, but if we can get Kopech for Wiemer and something smallish, that’s a low low trade we need to execute.

I am OK with trading Joey but I hate trading low on a high potential player. I don't know if Joey at this point even gets Kopech or any decent rental pitcher.

With the 40 roster crunch coming a trade would make sense maybe just for a stronger lotto ticket style player maybe in the mold of Di Turro just to save a roster spot.

Nobody is going to give value for Joey Weimer. He sucked offensively last year to the tune of a 75 OPS+, he remade his swing and now can’t hit in AAA either.

Any team can get 50 players like Joey Weimer right now for nothing more than a 40 man roster spot.

There's a reason you try to insert Wiemer into every trade proposal and every trade discussion. It's because he's been terrible this year and you're down on him. MLB GMs aren't stupid. They're aware of his struggles too. And they're aware that his reconstructed swing might never be MLB quality. He's a throw in at best right now.

He wasn't good last year so how are you selling high on him?

Last year bf posters thought I was crazy to want to sell him around July 1st.  He was gonna be a stud apparently and played a superb CF.  Anyway, if a team thinks they can fix him, let’s move on for whatever reinforcement they may offer.

Out of curiosity @Scooterfletcher, what do you want in return for Wiemer that improves the 2023 Brewers?

Scooterfletcher: For instance, Hader and Grisham and a top 15 arm.

To be clear, this is what you posted....

Was I wrong about moving Joey then even if Grisham has sucked as well?  Even if my idea sucked based on the players, was I wrong to think we should sell high when many were Joey lovers/buy in ers?

meh, I don't think this is a "pat yourself on the back" kind of moment.

So you weren't a Joey fan, and you wanted to move him.

meh.
