Pipeline with super outdated and inaccurate prospect lists? I am shocked, shocked I tell you. Fangraphs list posted on 7/4 had him as the 10th best prospect in the system

I always laugh out loud when McCalvy mentions the MLB Pipeline list as if it has any real merit throughout a season. They are so behind the curve in meaningfully updating those. I mentioned that mostly in jest.

Will be interesting to see how games get divvied up in the Carolina infield.

Adamczewski was 2B only on the complex.

Baez has a 42 at 3B vs 8 at 2B split for the year. Maybe he gets more 2B time so Bitonti can still play some 3B?

Di Turi is obviously the everyday SS with Pratt’s promotion, but who is the backup? Miguel Briceno? Bitonti?

Also wonder if Bitonti gets some RF reps as that’s another spot he theoretically has the tools for.

Briceno may have to resume his 2023 OF experiment. I don’t see how we can sit any of our 5 core infielders much.

When Yophery returns, I’d think Yhoswar would finally move up to High-A.

1-2-3 4th inning for Rodriguez. He did get to two full counts. The last resulting in a beautiful off-speed pitch right over the outer black. 53 is the pitch count. Doing what he does: getting to the 5th inning.

Yeah it makes the trade deadline honestly the worst because then you get people saying wow that trade sucked because we only got X rated prospect from said farm when in reality that prospect was a stock up prospect who is rated way higher and Pipeline just doesn't update until post deadline. Perfect example was the Hader trade when people acted like we got two lower end prospects from the Padres Top 30 when in reality both Gasser and Ruiz were going to be in the Top 10 when the list updated.

Oh man, that deadline killed me. SO many unknowledgeable fans spewing vitriol and disbelief. Imagine that? People letting the media dictate their sentiments as opposed to actual knowledge. NOT to mention the long game of that trade. Not to mention how fabulous Gasser looked in 2024. #Shocked. People generally just love a reason to over-react.

Gill Hill's 6th K. Making Castillo look very much not like the player we saw last week.

And Gill Hill gets his 7th K getting Bitonti looking at a beatiful tailing sinker at the top of the inner zone. That was a heck of a heater. Man, this young man. Can we just have him in our system? 😅

Bitonti with another decent battle but another strikeout this time on a front door FB strike 3 looking. Tough first test in full season ball for Bitonti and Adamczewski. This is certainly one of the better pitchers I've watched this year in the Carolina League. Up there with Sykora and Susana from Fredericksburg.

I'd throw Clemmie's first couple of outings in there as well. He absolutely dominated those bats in his first two outings.

Adamczewski booted a grounder. Big hop, apparently - terrible camera work there. Charged an error. Walling then misfired wide of 2B. Some absolutely sloppy defensive work from the Mudcats in game 1 here.

Some horrible camera work that inning. We missed an Adamczewski error and Bitonti turning a double play stepping on 1st base then sending a perfect throw to 2B for a tag out.

Bitonti handles another ball cleanly and steps on the bag and fires very accurately to 2B for the inning ending DP. Again, the camera work caught absolutely nothing on the right side there. BUT we did see the ball arrive at 2B. LOL.

HEY NOW! Adamczewski just absolutely ripped a double to the RF wall. He went down and golfed that inside pitch. Heck of a swing right there. Noice!

Nashville jumped to a 2-0 lead and I have absolutely no idea how it happened and the screen is sitting right in front of my face. Chatty Kathy right here! LOL. I saw Arroyo's double into RF. Got nothing after that. LOL.

Hey now! Walling smashes a very hard hit one-hopper. Wicked top spin. Found its way into RF. Adamczewski scores. It's a 2-1 game. Let's GO!

Well, shoot. Gotta go back and watch that. Their inning still going on. Men on 2nd and 3rd. Capra at the dish.

Yoshwar Garcia was just pulled mid-game for Reidy Mercado to take the CF grass. Nothing of any apparent note - could absolutely have been planned. AND Rodriguez has pitched into the 6th inning for his third consecutive outing. This young man. He just continues to defy all everything. Unreal season.

What do you know...Manuel Rodriguez with another casual 6 IP low ER outing. Like clockwork at this point.

Just absolutely absurd season. Absolutely absurd. And, as you say, he really does do these effortlessly and casually to the naked eye. Unreal stuff. Third straight.

Meanwhile, the Sounds are now still in that inning. Leading 4-0. Hicklen just walked. Bases are juiced. Two down. This pitcher has to be nearing an exodus. This inning has lasted two weeks.

I also just have to say it:

The Sounds only trail Lehigh Valley by 2 G. Every game is meaningful in this early second half.
