Offense is in a bit of a slump absent last night.  Starting to miss Yeli.  Wins coming more from great pitching than the big outbursts from a couple weeks ago.

There's too much depth to be toiling with Mears.  Would rather activate Paredes or find out if Yoho could be a boost in the playoffs.  Perhaps he can be stored on the IL with a left toe contusion.

I like his upside well enough, but his ABs make him look like a mental midget who isn't a student of the game.

You're in a run producing spot in the lineup and you have a chance to drive in runs and you're caught guessing. Over and over and over again. Know the situation and swing the bat.

His biggest problem before this year (IMO) was way too much chasing outside the zone. He's somewhat corrected that, but yeah at times it's gone too far the other way. He's had ABs in similar situations lately where he actually swings early at fairly good pitches to hit & fouls them off. Did it again today in the 1st inning. Then he's put in more-or-less a self-imposed protect mode, which he isn't good at.

Confidence & the relaxation that comes from it. We've seen what it's done for Chourio. No, Mitchell isn't at the same level, but he tightens up sometimes & winds up fighting himself.

Nick Mears looks like my pot dealer back in HS, 50 years ago.

They look pretty much the same today.

Just some notable AAA stats in light of this Brewers series.

Misiorowski - .205 xWOBA, 80 Avg EV, 12% hard hit hate, 31% K-rate, 9% BB-rate, 29% whiff rate

Yoho - .192 xwOBA, 84 Avg EV, 22% hard hit rate, 44% K-rate, 0% BB-rate, 39% whiff rate

They say Yohos' FB is 93-94. The way his other stuff moves, it would be cool if there was a way to measure how fast it LOOKS to hitters when he chooses to use it.

I'm guessing there will be some sort of celestial crossroads in the space-time continuum shortly after 9-1, where decisions will be made about the above two.

I'd say more 91-93 than 93-94.
