As an aside, the Dodgers screwed the pooch by NOT having the contact play on with guys on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. They may win anyway, but it was STOOPID

Watching the game tonight and man I really can't help but feel how this Brewers team would have a huge advantage playing all their home games at a park with dimensions like Oakland. Huge alleys for our speed guys to get XBH and big foul territories for our corner OF who are all really CF to range deep into foul territory to make catches more corner OF wouldn't dream of.

Edit: Like in all honesty, I feel like AmFam might be one of the worst parks in the league for the roster the Brewers have.

I just saw Civale's pitch breakdown of his struggle-filled 4th. I can already see the follow-up Spencer and Stearn tweets and cover stories about Contreras' pitch calling in 3...2...1

I mean it was certainly excessive. 29 pitches and 25 were fastballs with 1 of the 4 breaking balls being one that Civale called on his pitchcom device lol

Oh I get it. I'm not saying they're wrong. Contreras is calling in a world of his own right now in random spots and it hasn't led to good results. Play to the advantages. Always. Live and die by leaning into strengths.

When you're going to explode all over someone offensively, it's nice to save it for a game where it's really timely. Civale was pretty ugly tonight. The leadoff HR & back-to-back hits in the 4th really seemed to put him in nibbling, non-aggressive mode with the hitters immediately following. Especially in the 4th, vs their 7 & 8 hitters you'd think the runner on 3rd was the winning run instead of a meh runner in a 7-1 game. That's the only bad thing in this one, getting 11 runs & still having to use your pen for 5 innings.

Frelick was a smorgasboard of defensive excellence tonight. That throw to 3rd, he didn't even plant & throw with momentum, instead turning to his right & then planting. Fundamentally wrong, but still got a ton on the throw. I've always felt his throwing arm was unfairly panned, but what he uncorked there was better than even I would've expected from him. Plus two hits, one vs a lefty. Just a great day.

Terrific job going with the pitch by Sanchez.

I've been saying the exact same thing since his Biloxi days. When Frelick puts it into a throw, his arm is a cannon. I don't buy any of the average arm nonsense. I've seen him uncork absolute darts from RF to 3B on several occasions. We may not get it all the time but that is a plus arm for the most part in my book.
