Sat. 3/29 - How about a repeat of Opening Night success? "Sounds" good!

That’s more like it. 3 Ks in a row in the 2nd.  Much more in control for Logan.  Let’s hope this is what we the rest of the game. Now the offense can start to get going.  Looked overmatched in the first.

Henderson pretty much completely ditched the cutter and slider in the 2nd inning and dominated. Personally I don't care what his ERA numbers are, I'd much rather him get a bunch of reps with those pitches because he needs to expand his repertoire.

I didn’t see the cutter or know how to see it.  I agree I’d rather have him struggle and learn a third pitch maybe next starts.

EMJ with a hard hit to the right center gap and hustles for a triple

The Siegler with a hard hit out to score a run.

AAA has statcast data. He threw 6 sliders and cutters in the 1st and 2 in the 2nd. Of the 8 thrown only one has been in the strike zone while his zone rate on the FB and CH are both over 50%. Even going back to ST he really struggled throwing the slider and cutter for strikes.

Got it. Not as good with using stat cast - I’m pretty ignorant to types and shapes of pitches.
‘I will try to check it out more to try to learn.

Solid third inning. A couple of hard hit balls but at fielders. The third out was a nice grab down the line by Durbin with an average throw to get the runner.  Not amazing, but solid enough that you can see that playing up in the majors.

Was actually a good throw. Durbin intentionally played the long hop which is smart when you're making such long throws.

Logan goes back to cutter and on back to back pitches. First was a strike. Second was hit out for a homer. Wonder if he will try cutter again?

Logan really struggling again in the 4th.  Pitch count approaching 80, two on and two outs. And he just had a pitch clock violation, then a walk to load it. Ugh. Not very good. Logan just hit a wall after settling after a poor first inning.

I completely agree here. IF the Brewers (and we as fans) want to see him succeed in a starting role at the MLB level he has to commit to pushing those third and fourth pitches. In the very least, he led with them. Hopefully, he continues to do so in outings ahead and solidifies them to the point he can use them in any inning in any count. That's our dream.

Clarke K, Herron turns on a sinker for a single, wild pitch and its two in scoring position with one out. Spain (or is it S[ain?) hits a sac-fly after working a full count and Delgado scores 5-2. Durbin out on a reaaaally close bang-bang play at first

Spain gave us a well battled Sac fly in a 3-2 count to plate another. 5-2 Sounds trail heading to the top of the sixth. Hard to ask for a better start from Spain in his early work for the Sounds.

New season and Clarke is still swinging and missing on many pitches. 2 K tonight. He just struck out swinging. His 2nd K tonight. I know the power and the OPS speak to his upside but he continues to swing on miss on wayyyyyy too many pitches in the meat of the zone. That one was a belt high cutter on the outer half. Bases were juiced. Sounds leave the inning with two walks, two HBP (one scoring another run) but they failed to do any damage. They trail 8-3 after McGee and Yoho found a wee bit of trouble in the last frame.
