I guess we all do. Made throws the routine grounder wide. And a lead off runner.

For all the fireworks of 10 runs in the first 2 innings, a pitching duel broke out in Myrtle Beach now. 5-5 still on to the 7th.

Meanwhile Wilken up for the Shuckers in the 9th.  Can’t hit a 5 run HR with no one on. So he strikes out. Ugh. 
Sounds cruising still. Bottom 8, and a 7-1 lead for the Sounds.

Can’t say enough about Tanner Gillis. 5 innings of shutout relief.  Not dominant. His offspeed stuff had them off balance, but got outs. Worked around a Bitonti error and a hit and wild pitch still even 5-5 after 7 complete.

Midendorf comes on an closes it out Nashville. Sounds win

first stateside hit is a 3 run HR. Wow. Just cleared the LF wall, in the corner. Didn’t get it all but his power gets it out of here!!

And Broca came in and with a walk a couple hard hits. It’s now 8-7. Muddies still lead. Not what they needed there.

Wild game in Myrtle Beach. 8-7 lead bottom of the 9th.

HBP. Single into RF and runners on the corners.

A single dropped into LF. And the run scores. Tie game 8-8. Still no out. Broca not dolling these guys and now a little. Nearly hitting the batter. But gets a huge K. One out.

Broca freezes the Pelicans hottest hitter Mathis with a breaking ball on the lower outer corner of the zone. And we are off to Extras. 8-8. Wild game. 5 innings of nothing in between eventful 1st/2nd and 8th/9th.

Trouble brewing. Muddies unable to even move the runner over. Langhorne now in. A grounder to 1st that eats up Bitonti (he’s struggled after we gave him some compliments earlier). A big out then a HBP. Bases juice one out 8-8 bottom 10.

Wow. Soft grounder to Adamczewski and he causally tags the runner and flips to 1st. Wow. Heads up. Most go to home, and he may not have had a chance. But run into the runner and flip to first. Double play. Great play!

Adamczewski big double to RF to give them the lead.

And a double just smoked to left center and it’s tied again. Runner on 2nd one out bottom 11.

Gonna call it a night. Muddies get a run across in the 12th. Hoping they can close it out here.

Wild Baseball at The Grand Strand last night, delayed till 8:15 and was 12 innings. Must have been 1145 12am or so before that ended, it was 5-5, Bot 8 when I got back from my college baseball night. That game was a 3:52 minute one with NC State winning 13-11. 2 awesome wins for my teams last night! Enter picture from the college game.... here

Alright. Solid win and good timely hits by the Mudcats. This win doesn’t happen with Tanner Gillis. Came in a through 5 shutout innings after Meccage and Reyes struggled in the first 2 innings.  He got 5K, and only 4 hits. That offense was off balance against him.

Adamaczewski with the heads up play on the double play in a bases loaded 1-out scenario is extras in the 10th.   Hit right to him and he knew what to do - no panic. Even the announcer was confused as he thought the runner was called out on interference, but it was a quick tag and a quick throw, no room for error and he did it to keep it tied. Then gets the first lead in the 11th. Blayberg Diaz had the grounder force out to score it and looks like Langhorne went 3 up and 3 down to close it out. This team has immense talent, fun players and pitchers, and a game like this where you have to will yourself to win is a nice sign.
