Changes to ads on our forums

Over the next few hours, this change should propagate to all users:

We've reduced ad coverage on the forums by about 25% on mobile devices. I've received complaints and also been bothered by how prevalent ads are on phones, specifically on the forums. While there will still occasionally be ad-post-ad situations, it will be rare now and after testing this for several days, I've seen more instances of four posts in a row with no ads between than I've seen ad-post-ad situations.

Hopefully this makes browsing and participating on the forums a more pleasant experience on mobile devices!

I've noticed that this ad has an annoying side effect.  I'm on a computer browser and when this ad pops up, I can't scroll until it completes, or I close it.  When I close it or when it finishes, it pops me back to the top of the page and I have to scroll back down to where I was reading.  Sometimes it pops up consecutively which make is massively annoying.

@Brock Beauchamp getting a black screen, which I'm guessing is an ad because it happens mid scroll.  I can see the top of the thread and bottom, but where all the posts are its just straight black.  Add pictures to show where you can see the top and bottom, with the black inbetween incase the pictutes arent clear.

I've had an issue the last few days where I am typing a post and everything in the forum just fades away. Literally it fades out - doesn't cut all at once. Almost like a cross dissolve to white.  I still see ads on the bottom and in the margin, the top menu is still there (I think) but the forum thread has vanished. I have to refresh the screen and I end up losing what I've typed.

Okay, this is super weird. Anyone else? I haven't seen anything even close to this.

My issue is an ad will pop up right over and covers the area where I am typing a post in the GDT.  Hell, it has happened three times while I tried to reply to this thread!   :-/

What is that doing, taking over your entire screen?

Yes.  It happened while I was scrolling 

Edit: Just saw a similar picknsave add that took up the whole screen as I scrolled but then disappeared as I scrolled.  The previous one was permanently taking up the screen.  Not sure if that's the same add but if so, maybe I clicked on it by mistake last time?

Lots of mistake clicking with these ads.  Either I have old fingers (yes) or they're making them really easy to mistake click on (probably yes too)

Sorry if this isn't the best place to put this, @Brock Beauchamp, but I've been seeing a lot ads on my computer's browser (Edge), despite my annual caretaker subscription.

I've been meaning to make a code change for awhile, I'm just gonna go ahead and do it now.

Let me know if all ads have been removed. I meant to test this code a long time ago, just never got around to it.

The ads have gotten worse on Safari mobile.  The page will sometimes refresh 2-3 times after loading originally.  Then the ads start to load again and again and again and again.  It is also making the site randomly resize and scroll.
