Lil smoother sailing in the 3rd and 4th innings for Brett going seven up six down (3 K) with just a single and stolen base in there.

Rocket City eventually broke through against Biloxi in the bottom of the 6th inning for 2 runs off Bo Bowman (1 earned), so the Shuckers fell 2-1.

That makes this play to end the top of the 4th inning all the more painful.

Jeez - Luis Lara thought he’d caught the tough fly ball which scored those 2 runs for Rocket City. Tough loss.

Rare bad start for Bryce Meccage, who’s yielded 3 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks thru 2 innings thus far.

Pena, Bitonti and Payne each K’d swinging in the 1st inning, so everyone’s going to need to wake up quickly to get back into this one.

LHP Nate Peterson (3.18 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, 9.2 K/9 in 28.1 IP) makes his 4th start (10 appearance) for Biloxi in Game 2 of today’s doubleheader at Rocket City. C Darrien Miller and 2B Jheremy Vargas replace Wood and Boeve from the earlier contest.

Unfortunately, Carlos F. Rodriguez can't seem to locate tonight: 3 walks, 2 HBP, 4 hits (3 for extra bases).

Nashville trails 4-0 in the 3rd inning. The Sounds also wasted a game-opening triple by Jimmy Herron.

After that last CF-Rod walk, we've got the ominous "Injury Delay" and he has exited after 2.1 IP (63 pitches, 31 strikes). Shoot.

Carolina turned that 3-0 deficit around in lovely fashion with an 8-run 3rd inning, highlighted by a 3-run, 2-out triple by Luis Lameda and 3-run little league homer (single + errors) by Jesus Made. Yay!

Made just lasers a single into center with so much spin that it jumped a few feet to the right of the CF on the bounce and rolls to the wall. Probably and error, maybe an inside the park home run.

Looks like the scorer just changed it to an inside-the-park home run, though that's certainly not how I was taught to score in elementary school.

Rocket City's first 3 hitters reached against Nate Peterson (including an RBI single), but they thankfully ran themselves out of the inning: sac bunt, force out at home, picked off.

Biloxi trails 1-0 as they head to the 2nd inning.

Hmmm. A leadoff walk (Luke Adams) in the 1st inning and leadoff double (Darrien Miller) in the 2nd inning have yielded no runs for Biloxi. Still trailing 1-0.

Tyson Hardin worked around five singles, two walks, and an HBP in the first three innings to only allow one run before getting a 3U3D frame in the fourth striking out the last two batters for his 4th and 5th pinch outs of the game.

Ryan Birchard on for the fifth and goes 3U3D.

An Areinamo single is it for the offense through four.

I think this happened to Wisconsin when they played a team with a poor record recently, but Biloxi playing the lowly Trash Pandas (16-29 when entering this week), and the offense goes so cold and they lose the first two games,  I mean they were crushing it against Montgomery and Birmingham a few weeks ago if I remember correctly.  Baseball is weird huh? Still down 1-0 in this game.

Bryan Hudson works around a lead off walk & stolen bag to put up a zero in the seventh for NASH (1 K).

Four seamer ranged from 90.4 up to 94.6 MPH.

Ryan Birchard gives up single, stolen base, single, passed ball. Runners on 2nd/3rd and no outs. And he walks the next batter. That just encapsulates his struggles doesn’t it. Let’s get out of this with minimal damage.
