Tue. 6/10 - Hit the Road, Jack! (All Full-Season Affiliates Travel This Week)

Ugh. Two on and no out for Biloxi trying to get insurance runs and Spain and Adams K. Then Boeve grounds out.  Dang. Missed opportunity there.

And Langhorne strikes out his first batter. Then a single, a walk and head scratcher by Guilarte. He may have had a play at first but tries to flip to 2nd base and does so poorly. Bases juiced with only 1 out. Yikes.

That’s a bad time for the first walk given by a shuckers pitcher. It’s 2 on, 0 out nursing a 9-8 lead. C’mon Yeager let’s get outta this please….

Yeager falls behind 3-1 to the next batter. Gets the foul out of play into the stands past 1B/RF. 3-2 count. Heater top of the zone. Fouled straight back. Runner trots back to 1B leaving on the pitch. And he just misses on high outside heat. Whewww. Men on 1st and 2nd. Nobody out.

Grrrr. A single and it’s tied. Winning run only 90 feet away. Needs a K and a DP here.

Nobody out. Tie game. Runners on the corner. Fell behind to every batter. Not a good look for Yeager tonight. I've seen this Act before.

Sac fly. Shuckers lose. Yuck. Poor look from Yeager. Had nothing off-speed landing. Heater wasn't landing consistently but he was forced to throw it falling behind every batter. Man. That hurts.

Outside of the solo homer Griffin Tobias has only allowed a single over four frames with three strikeouts. He has yet to walk a batter in 19.2 IP.

Jadyn Fielder has four triples already (on the season, not this game).

I'm going to say something mildly controversial but, then again, I often go against the grain of the group think in Prospect Land and I certainly disagree with the Brewers on many of their prospect rankings and opinions:

Marco Dinges is a better prospect at this stage of his career than C Jeferson Quero. Especially, if we consider the shoulder injury to Quero. Dinges is younger. He's improving at the dish on a game-by-game basis. He has a cannon - the throw to 2B will improve. He's younger and has a better hit tool than Quero ever has.

Prove me wrong. Regardless of what y'all thing: We struck absolute GOLD here.

At least equally a prospect now, no? Was seeing them both in a 2028 Brewer lineup.

I certainly hope we are that lucky. Man, that would be something

Griffin Tobias back out for the sixth and works around a leadoff single to put up another zero, adding another strikeout.

You love to see it. Well, on Gamecast at least. Sigh.

Maybe it will be enough to warrant the ever elusive ACL highlight clip package from BrewersPD.

We just got bamboozled by gameday. They briefly had the ACL Brewers winning 2-1 but then it corrected and the ACL Brewers were instead walked off 3-2 in the 7th.

Yep. Seriously one of those nights in the System. Thankfully, the T-Rats are hot. That's all I got. I mean that Lynchburg broadcast was an absolute 'What is this even?' experience. Sighs.

The tying and winning ACL Sox runs came with two down. Consecutive doubles tied it. Nadal throwing error apparently sealed the deal. Hurt me!

This just in: the suddenly surging T-Rats are 3.5 GB of first place Cedar Rapids who now lead Quad Cities by 1/2 G. This also just in: it won't get any easier. T-Rats are on the road after this Great Lakes series @ the Midwest League leading West Michigan White Caps next week. Cedar Rapids will play Beloit in Beloit (tied with the T-Rats). Quad Cities will be playing second place (Midwest East) Lansing. Quite the photo finish coming down the stretch in the Midwest League first half. Just. Keep. Winning.

Drats. Hard not to feel for Tobias.

Demetrio giveth (two run HR) and taketh away (walkoff error).

So Joseph ripped off a bit of a hot take about Dinges earlier in the thread. I've got a bit of a hot take involving Dinges as well. Of the Brewers 2023 and 2024 draft picks, I think Payne and Dinges have the two highest ceilings. These guys both have legit power upside and have flashed the tools to feel confident enough that they will stick at premium defensive spots in CF and C. I'd have Pratt and Bitonti behind them at 3 and 4. I'm just not as high on Pratt's bat as most. I just don't think there's as much power in there as others think and while Bitonti probably has the highest offensive ceiling of the two drafts him seemingly already pushed down the defensive spectrum to 1B really dampers his ceiling for me.

Interesting ....  You are thinking non-pitchers, no?

Certainly would not quarrel about the D positions. And Pratt is feeling like a high floor guy, but maybe a 7 or 8 hitter in the majors.

Makes a lot of sense. Payne is so young, but that makes sense.
